I got the controller from Best Buy but I'll try for a slim on the 10th and if not I'll get a regular one and get a sweet cover plate. I was going to get a PS5 this year anyways. Even working from home like I do was still difficult to try and scoop one up. It's easier though for sure but this whole way they did it was horrible.

Got a few launch titles, then nothing but remasters and remakes, We'll have the PS5 end of life release of games, then PS6 & rinse & repeat. There's no AAA development happening that hits in-between launch and end of life. Devs either start way early before a new release to hit launch window, or devs are releasing near end of life and using all they learned about the hardware to make the most gorgeous of games. Given how long AAA dev then takes now, their new projects end up on the same release windows on the next console release. After State of Play the other day I hung my PS5 out front, put a sheet over it and made it a ghost for Halloween!

I literally was trying hopelessly to get the slim 30th edition for my dad for Christmas and I have been awake for almost 24 hours I finish work at 11pm last night and drank 3 cups of coffee and stayed up the whole night and was in the queue and should of have my spot held i got all the way to 9am when it kicked me from the sight put me back in the waiting queue and said the line was pause I had to wait until 10:40am to get back in the sight and same thing the add to cart button was there but would not add it to my cart a few minutes later everything was unavailable....all that committed and dedication of a true fan to the sony playstation on a wim and a prayer with absolutely no sleep to try and give my dad an amazing Christmas was crushed within 40 minutes by sonys terrible pre order system and scalpers trying to make quick cash at the cost of the average Joe who just wanted to have something nice in there already stressful life. Very disappointed and I just can't believe it

Only 12,300 units, and you didn’t see this coming?😂 I’ve been on Playstation since the launch of the PS1, and I have watched Sony become more and more anti-consumer ever since the backwards compatibility debacle on PS3. They are notorious for abandoning hardware, they don’t honor digital sales of PS1 and PS2 titles from the PS3 generation. Instead, they re-list them for PS5 and don’t even give previous digital owners a discount. If you own a Dual Sense Edge, good luck purchasing their replacement sticks, because they are unavailable everywhere. They sell you a blu ray drive for their new systems for double the price of an external blu ray drive that has read AND write capabilities. You like vr? Well, Sony won’t make your PSVR2 backwards compatible with your PSVR library. Instead, they will sell you remastered versions of the games you already own at full price. How about those PSVR 2 controllers. If one breaks, you can’t even purchase a replacement. You either hope someone can repair it, or you buy a new system from Sony. Want to play PSVR 2 on PC? Spend $60 on the adapter and have to buy a display port cable separate. How are you surprised at any of this? Keep giving Playstation your money.

I don't blame the scalpers, i blame Sony. This has been a constant problem since the PS5 launched, but Sony doesn't care, they still get paid. If someone is willing to pay $4K for a PS5 Pro from a scalper, they should really consider dropping that $4K on a monster PC that will eat PS5 Pros for a snack.

I had no interest in the PS5 until I saw the 30th pro, then I decided I wanted one. Here in Australia they had ‘very limited stock’. 2 retailers had these available. One was EB games, which you needed high tier membership to buy one (eg have spent 10k), the other is running a ballot. The other items were at 2 retailers, which sold out in a couple of minutes. 5 mins later ebay had completed listings at double the price😤 it would have been nice to have a reasonable amount produced so I could buy one. Instead I will wait til a PS5 is 100 used in a few years and pick one up then.

I got the regular PS5 pro, 30th Anniversary controller and the 30th Anniversary Portal. As far as the Pro goes, beyond the color, the consoles are identical, so I'll get either classic grey skins or the inevitable classic grey faceplates and have the closet thing to an actual 30th anniversary edition console. Easy, Done deal.

I was able to snag a controller at Best Buy, because I wasn't working today. And I had the lucky opportunity to potentially purchase a regular PS5 Pro from Playstation Direct, but I didn't. I just wanted to see if I could, and what the total price with tax would be. Plus I'm fine with my OG PS5, and I hate scalpers, so I'm not becoming one. The controller will go in and out of stock at stores, kind of like the Astro Bot controller. Just keep trying.

Sony could have done a better job but yesterday their site said what time they would start sales. I went to the website 20 minutes before the start and got in line so to speak. 7 minutes after start I was able to make a purchase and was able to get the bundle. The site would only allow 1 bundle for purchase. After purchase it automatically kicked me out to get in line again which said was over an hour wait.

It was a load of crap. I got put into a paused queue 45 minutes before the launch time. Once the launch time hit the queue started and I sat there for an hour in the queue. When I finally got in, shocker, it was sold out.

I was in que on my phone. I used my pc and googled ps direct ps5 pro . Sure enough the paged showed the cart page without any kind of que. I added both in cart but had to press checkout like 5 times before it went through. Got my confirmation email… going to sell the anniversary one….😂

There’s got to be a way Sony could completely eliminate bot/scalper purchases. Require an actual ID/Human Verification, matching your shipping address, Limit 1 bundle per person. Your PSN account required for purchase.. lock out that Hardware to the specific PSN for 6 months or a Year so it cannot be sold right away & used by another PSN

My bf and I were in the waiting queue for the 30th bundle. He was going to sell his while I was still on the fence. By the time I got redirected the 30th bundle and slim were unavailable while the Pro and 30th Anniversary controllers and Portal were available. We both passed on our opportunities on the remaining pre orders. However, I thought the randomness was fair when compared to the PS5 pre order a few years ago.

Not gonna lie, I didn't even know this was happening until late last night. Fortunately I was able to get in a queue with my phone and an ipad. First time I got the PS5 Slim 30th and the PS Portal 30th. I forgot to grab the Dual Sense 30th because I wanted to check out asap so they wouldn't disappear. I then used the queue on my ipad to get back in and grab a 30th Dual Sense.

I didn't even want the 30th anniversary bundle. I've come to realize that the more I want to use something, the more inexpensive and replaceable it should be. If you're buying a 30th anniversary PS5 pro to actually play it, you're either crazy or playing a cosmetically dependent, FOMO reliant, looter shooter IRL. It was always intended for the collectors, and the collectors can afford to drop 5k on a grail piece.
