Great quick video. I see this ranked as top two SSDs to get for PS5. I have a question, I just bought my PS5 Pro a few days ago and didn’t think I needed the SSD and didn’t put it in before my initial boot up. Can I still install it? Or is it too late?

The screw on the outside and inside of that compartment are 2 different sizes so my Phillips head doesn’t fit in the one in the inside 😭

following your video where it wasnt mentioned that the topper of the screw needs to be first placed on the ps5 before SSD stick will rest on it, nor the click i should have heard pushing the stick into the SSD, I ended up stripping the screw because i was trying to jam it at an angle. This video needs to be reworked to include those mandatory details so there are no other people who will end up stripping their screws

@@christodd9483 installing the SSD into your PS5 formats the SSD to work with your PS5 so there is no need to update any firmware since it gets formatted

@christodd9483 not sure, I have mine set up to install PS5 games automatically on the SSD and it installs PS4 games on console storage…there may be an option to move between them but I didn’t check it

So this isn't like the ps4 where you have to download the ps operating system and your save files onto the ssd using a PC or laptop? Cause that's what I had to do to install an ssd in the ps4.

No, you’re just adding it on as extra so the operating system on the SSD it came with still sticks around since we’re not messing with the OG SSD the system comes with

@@RobertMediaPro i don’t think it matters. Once you turn on your system after you install it formats the SSD automatically then it’s ready, and of course it’s an additional fresh new hard drive so I don’t think it matters

No you’re just formatting the SSD, once it’s installed you literally can’t do anything until it asks you to format the SSD which is shown in the video. Once you successfully format it your system will start as normally as you internal memory remains untouched

Silly question. I just got the 30th anniversary ps5 that is coming on November 21st. Do i need to plug my system in and set it up before i install this? Same thing for the disk drive. Do i need to wait to install that as well?

I probably would wait! Idk if you need to but luckily installing an SSD literally takes 10 minutes so I would wait in your shoes
