I've had PS4 for about 5 and half years, it'll be 6 this years summer and so ive only played about 17 games and only finished 3, there are 15+ more games I wanna play on the console, I don't really see a reason to buy a PS5 right now as the only ps5 game that has released and I'm interested in is spiderman 2, that's all and I'm the type of guy who bought a ps4 just to play gow and then didn't get the game till next year and play 😂, so for me I ain't upgrading now, I would hope my cousin sends me a PS5 soon but even then, its just all PS4 games that I'll be playing on a PS5

@@date5960edit: pardon for the essay, I had some time to spare so yeah. understandable buddy but we have our difference, I don't got a 4k 120hz monitor, I can only afford a 1080 60hz one 😂 cause TVs here are triple quadruple the price of PS5 and on your point you're right, it's just personally I don't want to upgrade right now Here's the reason, PS5 is closing in on it's 4th year and the gaming area for it is still desolate(personal opinion, no hate ❤️), back in 2015 I wanted a PS4 so bad cause if you remember, we got Bloodborne, Batman Arkham knight, fallout 4, the Witcher 3, dying light, just cause 3, mad max(wanna try it, haven't yet), metal Gear Solid V, rise of the tomb raider, middle earth shadow of mordor I guess also came out that year. I mean these games are a whole 2 years worth of content for me 😂, of course I wanted a PS4 so bad back then. And well now, PS5 only has......demon souls and spiderman 2, that's it, for now. This year we're getting black myth wukong and ronin games, because of which I hopefully upgrade to a PS5 and if fromsoft comes up with a Bloodborne 2 or another Sekrio game, I'm getting the console asap no further questions (Jim Carrey reference)

I got a ps5 and I got to admit it’s an expensive piece of plastic and the battery life in the controller doesn’t last very long but I’m enjoying it as for the ps4 there a dime a dozen you can easily find on the used market or pawnshops for 150 to 299 for a pro there still content for the ps4 and probably will be for a few more years depending on the individual needs it’s up to you and what you can afford

I bought the ps4 pro brand new from Walmart in 2019 boxing day for $400, even at that price point it was worth it to me, let alone how cheap they are now. If you compare ps4 to ps5, and forget about the backwards compatibility that ps5 has, the ps4 wins in my opinion. You get a lot more entertainment at a way better price point on ps4, the controller was a huge step in the right direction, you don't even need online to enjoy ps4. Not enough exclusive games on ps5 to justify it in my opinion.

PS5 natively has backwards compatibility with PS4. Just pop in the PS4 disc and you can play the PS4 vsrsion on PS5. Best of both worlds.

I'll give an short awnser. Wanna game and don't care for resolution and are fine with iffy performance get a standard ps4. Are there still no current gen games in your interest but you'd like better performance get a ps4 pro (I'd recommend an ssd for it) Do you have money and want to play current gen games at better performance and plan on playing more current gen games that the ps4 can't get a ps5

Upgrade the ps4 from hdd drive for a ssd to fix load times (note it makes a notice with downloaded games not on disc) also change thermal paste sense you're in there already clean everything inside. Now for me personally I put some holes over my fan on ps4 pro and it does help with some noise but it's minor if anybody has help with making the airflow better leave a comment plz

I think ps4 will be sonys console to stick around the longest besides the ps2, it is near impossible to beat the ps2 considering you could still buy lots of brand new greatest hits games on ps2 even after 10 plus years (between 2011-2016 you could still walk into a lot of retailers and find brand new GTA trilogy, kingdom hearts 1 and 2, and final fantasy X on ps2). PS3 was around for a while, but ps4 is holding on extremely well, a lot better than ps3 did, and still has way more users than ps3 did around this time, better sales on ps4, more games on ps4.

Heres my issue no ps3 backwards compatibility. Still need 2 consoles. The PS3 has a massive library & I am not paying to stream them. The PS5 is remaster city, with no exclusives 4 years in. The PS4 pro should be supported, and have PS4 pro games its 4 Terra flops of power. It should have been kept in production for cross platforming titles. As the gap of almost 2 Terra flops to 10 is big between the base ps4 & 5. Its not about graphics, its about games. It’s why the Switch is still out, games out the a. However PS5 4 years in and they want a pro for what? Focus on PS5 games and maybe people will switch over.

I mean, PS4 not being backwards compatible to me was never a big deal. I get why it might be for some people, but two years ago, I found an extra, near mint ps3 slim 160gb with 2 controllers on the second hand market for only $40 Canadian. You can still find PS3 systems for so cheap and they sold tons of consoles, I would rather the PS4 had been cheaper price to make and not play PS3 games. It is the same as how people complained about PS3 taking away playing the ps2 games, that never bothered me either, as PS2 is a really cheap console, and those PS3 that are backwards compatible are prone to failing and having issues down the road, not to mention way more expensive, you could buy two ps2s and a ps3 for the typical price of a backwards compatible ps3.

I would go with ps4 personally. You can get a good, used ps4 pro in my area second hand for an average of $160- $250 Canadian, with games sometimes even too. The amount of cheap entertainment on ps4 still is staggering. The ps5 doesn't have enough exclusives to make it worth while and is still too expensive. On ps4 you can still play so many ps5 games like god of war ragnarok, tales of arise (great game), valkyrie elysium, last of us part 2, final fantasy vii remake part 1, among others. And the amount of amazing games on ps4 for between $10- $20 is staggering, games have tons of hours of entertainment, especially with trophies. And ps4 pro still looks amazing on a 4K TV.

I found a ps4 slim and psvr in a pawn shop and only paid 250.00 for it and 3games.... don't want a PS5 because I like owning physical copies of my games, Sony has already removed movies and games and on top of all that they gave v.r. gamer's a big slap in the face by not making the new astro bot v.r. after all the people that did buy the new system and spent more money on their v.r. system they screwed them and really aren't supporting it so screw that I'll stick with my PS4 and my PS3 and My original Xbox ( modded with 7000 games)

@@southsidetherealest2860i think it's just down to asset's where before having a "4k" standard wasn't an issue on ps4 till the boom of 4k tvs/monitors which is why the ps4pro and xbox one x was a thing (least imo) now that the current gen systems are out ps5/sx it's all about cranking everything to an 11 but givin that games are either open world or bust and fix later it's not exactly easy to judge and y'all have good points current games barely function good on ps4 and alot of games on the ps5 seems off I personally think this gen is "ok" but definitely not an home run and no I don't think a ps5 pro is needed given a ps6 would be out shortly after
