After a little more research Iv found that my problem with the splash back from the muzzle device may lie with lower quality ammunition that is not intended to be shot through ported barrels. Copper plated ammunition could be the cause. Not a barrel or brake problem in my case.

@NoblesTx5 жыл бұрын
jt Coleman well I’m an ak guy so my usual answer is whatever is cheapest but In this case, if your worried about the muzzle splash back I would recommend a good quality nato spec ammo. If you’re worried about feeding issues, I haven’t had a problem with any ball ammo Iv used. Most has been cheep brass cases ammo like Winchester white box or blazer brass.

How sturdy is that brace?
@NoblesTx5 жыл бұрын
Like I was explaining to another viewer, i would call it adequate for a folding 9mm direct blowback firearm. Iv shot this brace many times on two different 9mm sub guns and never once questioned the construction or structural integrity of the brace until I started receiving questions about it. It never gave me any flexing, bending, popping, or failure to lock issues. I would put it in the same category as a B&T wire folder but sturdier. That said, if you plan on banging in the trenches and pounding tent stakes with your pistol brace, maybe a stock is a better option 😁

Nice. Did you ever get your muzzle device squared away?
@NoblesTx5 жыл бұрын
Yea it turned out to be the bottom of the barrel ammo I was using, something I had no idea about , some lower quality ammo is not actually copper jacketed but copper plated, it was the plaiting separating as it was passing the baffles on the brake. Who knew

Hey Nobles, I can't tell you how many times I've had 9mm hot brass down the back of my shirt from my AR9. How do you like the AKV side folder? Does it wobble and lock up Tight? I'm waiting for my FFL to receive my AKV with the SBA3 brace. I was thinking of adding the SBT folding buffer tube adaptor or the Hera Arms Side folder Adaptor. You can take a Dremel Tool mini stone drum grinder and open up the muzzle break a little to get more clearance. BTW, thanks for the videos! cant wait to get my AKV!
@NoblesTx5 жыл бұрын
Awesome man, you’ll love the thing! I like the side folders for ease of transportation, it really makes it easier. As for durability, the FS1913 locks up very tight but it is still just a polymer brace, tho to be fair company’s like SIG, B&T and IWI all have wire folding polymer braces or stocks and they aren’t meant for crushing skulls but they will get the job done 😃 thanks for stopping by man!

I wonder if a Krink 4 pcs muzzle break would fit onto the AKV9 they really work great on the AK Rifles especially on the shorter barrel's
@NoblesTx5 жыл бұрын
Good question, the akv has a detent at the 10 o’clock position instead of the typical 12. So as long as you have either a crush washer or a brake that has the 10 o’clock detent, I think it would work
@jeffgoetz68855 жыл бұрын
The adapter that goes on the AK type Weapons has cut outs on the adapter and the 4 piece Muzzle Brake goes onto the adapter and I think that it would work as I have been unable to get an AKV9 Pistol yet but I am going to keep looking around for one and as you know they SELLOUT very quickly.

How much does it weigh? And does that brace help with controlling the weight of the firearm?

Man, hot brass down the shirt sucks... Thanks for sharing your thoughts/experience so far. It'll be interesting to figure out the keyholing/shaving issue. I'm sure many folks will want to throw a suppressor on, so if there's concentricity issues, hope not, but if so folks need to check for that. Great review man!
@NoblesTx5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yea I’m not sure what’s going on with the brake, what I’m going to eventually go is throw it on and shoot inside a small cardboard box and see what kind of pattern it’s throwing and maybe capture some of the material, maybe even try and get some slow motion video if what’s going on if I can. I honestly haven’t even looked down the barrel to see if there is anything noticeably wrong with threads in relation to barrel thickness but it’s on the list of to-do’s, thanks for watching my man!
@ChristianGrest5 жыл бұрын
@@NoblesTxI'd get a rod in the correct diameter and run it through the bore with the brake installed and check concentricity. It seems like you're onto something there. It only takes a small bit out of spec to cause the issues you're having. Still badass! If it's a defective barrel, I'm sure PSA will take care of it.
