Oh my goodness, thank you SO much !!! Finally a logical, easy to understand discussion of how and where to lube striker-fired pistols! My gun manuals completely suck at instructing where to lube. I admit I was doing it wrong, and will correct it now. Definitely putting this in the playlist.

I've run Q tips or cleaning patch with a dab of CLP or oil for many years; Glocks, M&Ps, PDP models. I use Slip 2000 EWL or Clenzoil brands mostly. I'd agree, you don't need to douse or soak semi auto uppers in gun oils, CLPs. Just the points that see contact or wear.

Scott, when are you going to make a video about your FN 509 Longslide? I saw the prototype on one of Talon Sei's videos when he was at a show. I asked him who was the manufacturer of that Longslide and he said Apex. I can't recall what show it was. I pre-ordered mine already and I'd love to see a video.

How the hell did this 3yr old vid on oiling my pistol get in my suggestions??? Yea I watched it, I guess my pistols would be considered “over oiled”, but they are well oiled, I don’t have oil on me after shooting, they never have a malfunction, and no surface rust. I guess I’m doing something right. Good video Apex, I love your products by the way, lol. I would take away that a well oiled firearm is better than a dry firearm.

@@apextacticalnot to be a hater but I belive on a r.a.p 440 you are meant to lube the slide because I did lube the slide and the slide was smooth with a slight grab half way through the cocking action. but seen this comment and then dried my slide then lubed the spots you said to and now it’s grabbing harder half way through

@Mango-xr1ow I don't know what a R.a.p. 440 is, but some guns may require more lube than we show in this video. Bottom line is, make sure to lube it or it won't run.

Disassemble it and clean it like you normally would. Oil in the striker channel is the big concern. That you need to be sure is kept clean and dry (from lube).

I think it’s crazy how most of us will sit here and comment on this video telling them they over lubricated but then first of all even if they did they probably take that gun apart each damn time and remove any oil that’s in the frame the main goal is to not get any in the firing pin channel other than that the lubrication won’t hurt and most of these comments here say Glock says to oil the slider rails the same a Glock and I know what you’re thinking door yeah sure it is but I’ve Glock is a lot loose compared to FN that has tighter tolerance Keep it up eight pics you guys won’t be around if you guys didn’t know what you were doing

2:28 "you can cause a hydraulic cylinder". Perhaps he meant to say "hrydolock"? Hydolock may be possible in a perfect environment, the vent hole being blocked would certainly affect the function of the striker, but, blocking the vent hole doesn't create a hydraulic cylinder. However, if a incorrect or this is juat a basic computer generated A.I. system for clicks, im always open to turning my hanguns into wood splitters.
