Most things you're worried about getting on your straw are probably already on your lips, out in public air. However, yes it is cute and definitely effective against insects. I've had enough gnats in my cups... i started making little aluminum foil disposable covers for my straws. No more dead gnats in my drinks. So yes, this serves a purpose i can agree with.

@@habibasharawy1643so the solution to a bug being in a cup is don’t bring the cup outside unless you have a good reason to have cup with you. And fyi popping the straw cover when you are ready for a drink will still expose the straw to the air and bugs unless you plan on never taking a drink for a very long time while being outside

These things are so annoying. You have to take them off everytime you put your straw in & it's not easy to remove. They are impossible to clean 100%. Useless. I have like 10 of them in my silverware drawer tho bc they're cute af 😂

My son used to eat dirt while playing in the grass in my yard. I even found pennys in his poop once. I found a thumbtack in my nephews poop before. I found a deflated balloon in my little brothers poop. All while changing stinky diapers. They’re all grown up now. Don’t worry about “germs”, they’re not all bad. I don’t worry about the cooties and air and dirt outside. I am in middle school and when I’m walking in the hallways with my Stanley, I’m worried that if I have the straw opened then somebody’s gonna yell and then spit it’s going to fly on the straw because I have the Stanley that has the straw that can close in the handles on the top and it can fold over, but yeah that’s pretty much my problem. I am just having a fear that someone is going to accidentally spit on my straw.
