Very comforting -sometimes we have a hard time accepting the forgiveness of God because we wouldn't forgive the things that God does - praise God he is merciful when we are not, praise God he is forgiving when we are not and praise God we know of assurance that where sin abounds grace abounds that much more. The vastness of the forgiveness of Christs forgiveness is to great for our fragile minds .

The wonderful Psalms in the Word of God are in a league of their own and is He worthy to be praised with anything less?

Thank you for sharing. Absolutely sublime. This is something to be brought back-- a veritable treasure. This beats the mindless repetition of "modern" music.

The world is loosing the ability to forgive, and with this it is loosing the ability to confess sins. How wonderful it is that the Holy Spirt convicts me of my sins, motivates me to confess these sins to God in prayer, seeking forgiveness in Jesus Christ. How can one not be moved by the singing of psalms with such a powerful message.

5 I wait for God, my soul doth wait, my hope is in his word. 6 More than they that for morning watch, my soul waits for the Lord; I say, more than they that do watch the morning light to see. 7 Let Israel hope in the Lord, for with him mercies be; And plenteous redemption is ever found with him. 8 And from all his iniquities he Isr'el shall redeem.

Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs; or {Psalms, Hymns, and Songs} - Spiritual; either way I understand the three Greek words are used in the titles of the individual psalms in the Book of Psalms the Septuagint Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible - see heidelblog.net/2012/09/psalms-hymns-and-spiritual-songs-in-the-septuagint/

1 Lord, from the depths to thee I cry'd. 2 My voice, Lord, do thou hear: Unto my supplication's voice give an attentive ear. 3 Lord, who shall stand, if thou, O Lord, should'st mark iniquity? 4 But yet with thee forgiveness is, that fear'd thou mayest be.

Dear Gary, Gaelic singing is beautiful indeed, but our Lord Jesus Christ is worthy to also be praised in every tongue under heaven, for in Him "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). Please consider that in the days when Christ walked this earth, He healed a centurion's servant and praised the centurion's faith -- even though this man was an officer in the Roman army that was oppressing the chosen people of God and occupying the land God had given them. Jesus redeems by His blood and calls by His grace those "out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" (Rev. 5:9) and if we are His, we will one day join them in His presence in heaven and together sing the song of the Lamb before His throne. Dear friend, do not let bitterness and unforgiveness keep you from that great joy, but let God alone be the judge. "There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?" (James 4:12).God alone has the authority and the wisdom to judge the great wrongs done by fallen men to one another. Leave the bitter pain caused by others' sins at the foot of Christ's cross along with your own sins. We ALL need His mercy and forgiveness, which He freely offers us in Christ if we will come to Him as sinners, not as judges.
