The PSB Imagine X2T is a tower speaker with dual 6.5 inch woofers. The Paradigm Monitor 8000f is a floor standing Speaker with 3, 8inch woofers. These speakers are very opposite sounding. I have been eyeing the PSB Imagine X2T for a long time, and had auditioned it at the local dealer in Dec 2020. I did find the overall sound presentation to be dry possibly due it being hooked up to the NAD M10 Amplifier, and the effect of DIRAC room correction at the dealer's litsenting. I didn't buy it though as I wanted to audition other speakers. My local dealer is selling the PSB Imagine X2T to the equivalent of USD 1115, so i was wondering where could it be purchased at the USD700 price tag mentioned in your video. Thank you for making this video and others, as there was hardly any that review old PSB models. I thought your channel could have attracted more subscribers, clicks and likes if you could reference how Zero Fidelity, Andrew Robinson, Steve Guttenberg Audiophiliac, New Record Day, CheapAudioMan had built their channels. When I put the speaker name in google, 2 stores come up. Looks like price has gone up to $750 for 1. But inflation is here. What speakers are you currently using? Thanks for watching my videos and the kind words.

@@OldtradesReviews Thank you for your reply. I realized USD750 price was for one speaker, so USD1194 for a pair in my country is quite a bargain. I only own a CD Receiver system, just getting into setting up an audiophile system, so I don't yet have any audiophile level speakers.

Thinking about purchasing white Paradigm Monitor 8000f for a home music listening (via sonos, records and cds), not as a home theater. Home has large open floor plan with exclusively tile floors, minimal area rugs/carpeting. I love lots of bass and louder music, going to match with a Crown KLS 2502 (provided free to me) and pioneer SC85. Do you think I need a paradigm subwoofer ? If so what P sub do you recommend ?

Hi, You can use whatever sub you like. Just try to make sure its a better quality and faster responding sub. The pioneer has pre outs which is great but use caution with the crown as the quality may not be good. The crowns are probably bets for DJ speakers

I have the smaller PSB xt1 tower speakers. It got mediocre reviews. This speaker is very hard to drive despite the high efficiency. They work well with Rotel power and pre amplifier. But Don't pair them with a cheap budget amp. Very similar in sound to Bowers and Wilkins 685s2. It's a good speaker when paired with the right amp.

It was hooked up to my Rotel 970bx power amplifier and Rotel rc 970bx preamplifier that I bought back in 1994. They were hooked up to a nad 316 bee integrated amp and the sound was not that great. Now they are hooked up to a old vintage 20 Watt per channel Scott receiver. Seperates are the way to go. Do you have any experience with late 80s Adcom components? I spotted one used for 509.00 for both the gfa 535 power amp and preamplifier tuner. The PSB is unpredictable on what components to mate with. I find there sound mellow and warm. Not bright at all. I don't have alot of equipment. But I have read about the Rotel tribute integrated amp being fantastic for the money. What about a separate parasound amplifier for my PSB speakers?

You really got your moneys worth out of the Rotels...that's a long time. I do not have Adcom experience. Some speakers are very hard to match, and the same goes with amps. I just reviewed a Parasound amp. It may be a good match for the psb....but I have not listed to that psb model speaker.

Yes it's a reliable component. Keeps on playing. I might step up to a new power amplifier and hook it up to my Rotel preamplifier.

That I do not know. I have never listened to them. Are you looking for a warm speaker?

I think those speakers should be driven by a powerful stereo amp to sound at it's best. No home theater receiver can do them justice when it comes purely to two channel listeninig. And then, I can hardly think that any speaker can sound good in such acoustically non-treated room.

True but most people that buy these speakers are probably looking for home theater anyways and most people don't have treated rooms.
