I loved this approach. I was actually thinking about deriving spacetime from states of QFT. I will love to work on this when I get into grad school

I'm so glad Sean mentioned that he had never heard of a Hamiltonian in his undergraduate QM course!!!! I remember mine 50 years ago, and I'm like, "WTF is this? What's a Hamiltonian?" what was I supposed to do with it. Now half (or more) of what Sean says is lost on me, but o well. Hilbert space? Good luck with that. And I pay for this !!

Man, I also went 50 yrs ago, and didn't understand a Hamiltonian, and still don't and what Sean says goes over my head too

Sean sketched a lovely conceptual approach to.research logic here. A lot of this stuff went over my head (I am a simple physical chemist by training😅), but i get the enormity of the potential impact of this work, if successful. I already have questions, perhaps silly and misguided: - will they derive number 3 for spatial dimensions from the locality aspects of the theory? - will speed of light emerge as a constant associated with dynamics of state interactions? - will time remain as fundamental parameter of the theory in line with Smolin"s view? Very cool stuff this, even though i "understand" it only on the superficial conceptual level.

I enjoy listening to a physics lecture, even when I do not understand the math behind it. BTW, can space exist without time?

Great teaching techniques as usual. Ie start where you are ,break down the components and apply the Socratic Method, (which is the Teachers recognised reflection of the statement of positioning technique), because Mathematics is the measuring point assumptions of a local/logical state of mathematical balance in pure relative motion, "Vector Space-time", eg the axial-tangential Calculus of "Phase-space". So the example/exploration of observational oscillation, (implied potential logarithmic possibilities positioning), resonance states that include the zero-infinity instantaneous trancendental limits of time-timing connection @.dt oscillation, demonstrates a Mathematical Disproof demonstration of the defining axial-tangential, resonance-singularity, implied cavity-space reason, for a pure implied or projected relative motion Principle Perspective, ie from a projection-drawing methodology combined in e-Pi-i sync-duration connectivity. This is maths Intuition in Polar-Cartesian, self-defining and "factorised/numberness " logarithmic coordination, Temporal Superposition-point Singularity aka Eternity-now. "Riding on Resonances" in empty space is the Classical World. Centuries of "naming rights", self-justifying Authors of political perceptions, have muddied the waters. Math-visualisation of "The Bulk", would be a reciprocal of infinite eternity @.dt here-now-forever singularity positioning => phase-point empty space. (?) Ie aspects of Infinity are timing modulation interference potential, by self-defining trancendental-logarithmic positioning coordination function e-Pi-i-numberness. What we perceive as "engineered" projection-drawing methodology verified by navigational intuition, learning by doing re-evolution experience.

Interesting ideas and a great talk. The factorisation of Hilbert space seems to be driven by a demand that the factorisation produces the universe we see - but why is this factorisation preferred by the theory? Why not some different factorisation that produces a universe with very different objects - not cats and galaxies, but something very different? Can we argue a posteriori about the factorisation? Should there not be some a priori justification for this particular factorisation?
