PSC German PaK 40 and Raupenschlepper Tractor [15mm]

I'm probably not saying “raupenschlepper” correctly at all... but anyway... here's a build video about the plastic soldier company German PaK 40 anti-tank gun and raupenschlepper tractor.
This is a 15mm scale plastic model and it's pretty good. If you're up for a little magnetisation you can easily build both the tractor and self propelled PaK 40, which is nice.

Just got this in 1/72nd scale today, so I was glad to see your vid. Very happy that you did not disappoint with the number of "Schlepp" jokes, either :). I noticed the lack of instructions for the gun right off as well. I have been happy with all of the PSC stuff I've bought lately, but they do make some odd decisions re their instruction sheets. They give you several options for builds, but they'll leave one of them right out of the instructions.

"It schlepps raupen" xD schleppen - carrying Raupen - centipede , it means civil trucks with tracks ^^ like a snowmobile in English for construction use. Raupenschlepper means a mobile that carry out things off road with tracks ;) nice vid btw.

If the rivet-counters get on your case too much you can always scratch build another exhaust system out of sprue. It looked like there was plenty of that in the box. Or, you can hand it to them and tell them to build it if it bothers them that much.

The tracks do have a right and wrong side. Pay attention to the direction the links face...

what a nice kit, i really like the fact that it lets you build many variants of the raupenschlepper (which simply means tracked tractor BTW). Im not a big fan of the solid windows though.. but i guess it makes sense because it's a wargaming piece

I really like this kit, BUT unfortunately there are no appropriate split-rails for the PaK 38. The included rails are for the PaK 40 and significantly longer than those used for the 38. As a result, the final gun if built as a PaK 38 is noticably too long overall. This can be alleviated by carefully removing about 4mm from the mid-section of each rail, but it's fiddly work. Also, sadly there is no driver figure for the PaK 40 SP version, which is kind of a bummer since the cockpit looks really rather unfinished without one - there's just a driver's seat but no steering wheel or any sort of dashbord.

technically 15mm is 1/107 scale but the difference between 1/100 is almost negligible..

It turned out that putting a 75mm Pak on the Raupenschlepper was a very dumb idea. The vehicle was too slow, too loud, too high and: If you traversed the gun to the side an fired - the vehicle would fall over. So a Herbert Erpaderp vehicle for sure. 😁
