Actually some of those blowouts the fcs schools were ahead in but then the wheels fell off in the final quarter. Fcs is catching up to fbs and i love it. I truly believe thats why the big schools are trying to make a separate thing where only major schools can play for championships. They’re scared

Abilene Christian is a private school of about 6,000 students who dominated D2 football forever in the Lone Star Conference. We used to play them (I’m a Tarleton State Alumni) and it would be a battle back and forth to see who could win the conference. Well ACU thought the competition was lacking in Lone Star so they decided to move up to D1 FCS. It has taken them a few years to work out the kinks but they are getting competitive, they certainly showed Tech a great game. As for my Alma Mater, we ended up going with ACU in D1 FCS although we are public and considerably larger than ACU, going to be a good season !!!

AC should have gone for it in regulation. I can’t stand when coaches are conservative at the end of regulation but aggressive in OT. They could have sent it to double OT, just like they sent it to OT with a FG. The crazy part was the incomplete at the end b4 the FG where the TV graphic said TD for a sec.

The clock was a factor in regulation. It was smarter to kick the field goal on 4th and 1 instead of going for it with no timeouts.

I don't like ACU going for 2 in that situation. Risk/reward is on the wrong side there. Kick the try, extend the game and make tech play another OT series and possibly make a mistake. At the second OT, they have to go for 2 then. You could tell when they lined up for the 2 point play, tech was ready and ACU wasn't. Bad call by the coach.

No dog in this one, but ACU’s QB got rattled towards the end of this game. This is only based on my observation of these highlights. The time out in the red zone with :16 on the clock was not necessary, because he just tossed it up at his receivers making them do the work anyway which they couldn't come down with the rock. Plus if they happen to catch it on the one and there is less than 10 seconds now how do you get your FG specialist out on the field without a time out. 1st down incompletion stops the clock for you and keeps the defense confused. Missed opportunity.
