I like to imagine that now in Eternity, Geronimo and Roosevelt are riding in an actual Cadillac.

Geronimo never defeated nor truly dies. He won the hearts of people (natives or americans) & forever lives on his images & words.

Sad thing is whenever I read up on subjects like this it always hits me how racist film depictions of natives were. I mean hell Geronimo became something you yell when jumping into something, it's commercialized, ingrained in our culture. It's sad really because that objectification is entirely normalized, as a kid we would act like Indians and do the token Indian call which probably is a problem in its own right. Crazy that a conflict hundreds of years in the past is still coloring our perception to this day. To this day we stereotype with things like native American casinos etc. It's that horrible habit of seeing one confirmation of a bias and saying "see it's just like I said". Sorry to get ranty fam, I'm usually not the type to give a shit about calling something racist but native Americans seem to have really gotten the short end of the stick in that regard.

my great grandfather met Geronimo once, he was taking him to the fort Geronimo was being sent to at that time, my great grand father was the cart's driver, the interaction went alot like "dont do anything funny" and Geronimo just nods, and that's the whole story.

Ok, so this is what the Modern Talking song is about, right? Edit: well not really but that was a very interesting story, and one that i can relate to as we in Chile had a similar relation with the Mapuches and their history.

Great job. Pretty depressing (but important) subject matter though. :-( Also reminded me that to this day our national capital's football team is called the Redskins. Seems like something that would be right at home in the days of the u.s. gov't parading around Geronimo like a mascot.

The name of redskins was not given in a derogatory sense. And at the time it was not really considered derogatory. As a native American I like the name as I do with , Indians, Braves, Savages etc. And most native Americans are not offended either. There is no need to be offended on someone else's behalf.
