Generally speaking, you don't declare variables in pseudode; however, if showing the declaration of variables helps you understand the algorithm, then do it.

Saving the input will require initialization, that is, preparing of memory space for data processing so I was thinking that there should have been a hexagon before number 3. I stand to be corrected. Thank you
