I still have a Psion 5 and an Ericsson MC218 (MX) in working conditions. The rest is SDK's/emulators and parts with cable/plastic issues. The Series 3/3a/3c/3mx and the Workabout models are more true to the idea of getting away from the office or the home. The 5/7 level is a laptop concept already and use more power in comparison. The AA battery idea is something to consider again when Apple and the others come full circle back to pocket laptops and extremely low powered ARM computing.

Just found mine again when doing some cleaning.. and my Palm Pilot (III?). But the one you are showing is not exactly like mine weirdly. I can't remember if this one is a MX or a "normal" one. When I open the keyboard It does not look the same as yours, mine says 8 MB though and I guess that is the storage. But I guess mine is a normal series 5 and not an MX. I have the backlight working but 1/3 of the right hand screen is not showing (backlit, but no pixels). Saw a finnish screen fixit sort of thing but he had lines and cleaned the cable. I hope I can do the same and it will fix the problem I have. Can't remember where I put my CF card though but I guess it will show up soon :-) There is a PSI linux distro (that with a CF card you could multiboot) that would be cool to run on this. The keyboard on this is just awesome btw... have no clue what I will use it for but would like it up and running (it does run, but the 1/3 screen is bad so it's annoying!). Thanks for the video on this!

Thanks for your comments. My Series 5 is the standard one. The MX came out around 6 months after I originally got mine in 1999 🤦. There was a Series 3 with a different keyboard. There was also a rebranded Series 5 made by Ericsson.

The Series 5 was really rather good. The Revo was also a nice device. The storage was resilient - I once recovered all the data off a Revo that someone had reversed a Mercedes over (in a briefcase)

+Roger O'Donnell It is a great device. The keyboard is still brilliant by today's standards. That was a bit if bad luck over the Revo. Glad you managed to recover all the data though :)

Did you see the designer of the S5 has a kickstater for a new device like this?

Haven't seen that I shall have a look :) Thanks for letting me know.

Leaking memory - Indiegogo look for the Gemini PDA.
I remember having one of these too pretty good in its day

You should take a look at the Gemini PDA! Its being made on Android using a Series 5 keyboard and looks to be absolutely incredible

The problem is "looks". I guess I'd be happy with a PSION with a current hardware with Symbian rather than a PSION-looks-like-new -hardwer with Android... But times change... I really want to know what is happened all those companyes, which are made us today technology: General Magic, Palm, PSION, Nokia, Ericsson - all of these companies do the base of today technology and they are disappeared.

Interesting video, but clearly you were not a Psion user in the day. The "paint" is a rubberised finish that was popular at the end of the 90's. The keyboard was a patented design and very unique. I used to write software for Psion. It was an amazing piece of kit. Not an amazing review of the system but a reasonable one.
