Guys, first off, excellent podcast as always but I feel like there were so many interesting questions that could have been asked. I am a nobody but I would love to hear Rehan’s answers to the following questions. I have huge respect for ISLU’s management, especially Rehan and really value his opinion. If IPL teams need an injury replacement player and approach an ISLU player mid PSL, how will ISLU combat that? Is there any dialogue between the management and players to stop players from leaving PSL mid season this year? Should PSL always be played at the same time as IPL? What happens when IPL has 12 or 14 teams in the next 5-7 years and players like Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Matthew Short get picked by those extra 2-4 IPL teams? ISLU has always supported its players and is possibly the number 1 choice for emerging players to play in, has ISLU made any efforts to start a player development program similar to LQ? Maybe Ana academy where they start recruiting players at the age of 16,17? Has ISLU considered joining other leagues or starting partnerships with teams in other leagues similar to how LQ partnered up with Yorkshire CC and Melbourne Stars and also participated in T10 League, Global Super League? We saw ISLU do that once in the Hong Kong T20 Blitz which was probably a project very close to Ali Naqvi’s heart. Zafar Gohar used to be in ISLU’s core, recently he has become a local English player in County Cricket. Do you think PCB failed Zafar Gohar as a player? And why was he continuously retained or picked by ISLU not given enough game time? Mohammad Musa Khan was also another CORE player for ISLU and had a terrific domestic season, yet he still went unpicked. Why didn’t ISLU pick him over Salman Irshad? Is it because Salman is a better death bowler than Musa? Any updates on the emerging Zeeshan Zameer who hasn’t played a single professional match since being injured in PSL 2023? Babar Azam couldn’t play him and Zeeshan looked like a gun player. How has ISLU’s strategy for maintaining its core players changed since letting Asif Ali and Faheem Ashraf go in the last couple of years? Qasim Akram and Mubasir Khan also had decent domestic seasons and consistently play for Pakistan Shaheens, were the 2 of them serious considerations for ISLU in this year’s draft? PSL 11 is expected to have 8 teams which would dilute the player pool but would give enough chances to deseving yet unpicked players like Sahibzada, Musa Khan, Qasim, Mubasir etc a chance. Is Rehan as a manager of the most successful PSL team in favour of the 2 new teams? How many players does Rehan think teams should teams be allowed to retain after PSL 10, considering the addition of 2 new teams? Please answer logically and not emotionally as it is understood that you as a manager would like to retain as many players as possible.

Really entertaining episode again. Enjoyed listening to the logics behind each pick. Imo, Isb united had an easier draft since their retentions were too good. Especially, middle order was basically covered already. A few questions if Rehan bhai can answer: 1- Your talk about TKC gives off an idea that he's a bit too highly rated by PSL teams despite his bad last season. Why is that? especially cuz PZ didn't even need a keeper & they could've explored other proper middle order batters around the world. 2- Salman Irshad isn't having that good of form in BPL, was mediocre in domestic t20 cup too. We had 2 standout performers in our domestic, Firstly, M Musa Khan who has been very very good in red ball + white ball recently, high pace & can reverse too ig? Secondly, Nisar Ahmad who bowled really smartly in the Domestic T20 cup with good stats. Why not look for them over Salman given their current form & Musa's big potential. 3- I understand Saad masood is a huge prospect but Imo Saad masood has a very low chance of getting into the XI given we have so many quality spin allrounders in our squad. So, shouldn't we have gotten an opener as 2nd emerging pick? (or maybe you'll get one in supplementary 😅) 4- Can supplementary players get into the XI at any time(without any unavailability from main 16 players)?

1. Rehan explained demand supply & lack of players who can play in the MO 2. He mentioned Salman’s role as specialist death bowlers, off air he talked about Musa, he rates Musa very highly & Musa was previously in IU. They were specifically eyeing a slinger action bowler 3. They have 2 picks remaining 4. Supplementary players can play at any & all times if picked in the X1

Charles who was decent for Multan in middle order last year, Mitchell Owen who's performing outstanding in BBL etc. I guess, it's up to personal preference then, same with salman's pick. All good.

We asked Rehan, he explained on the episode too. Off air as well he mentioned that they don’t look at categories, they look at who they want. For eg: He said ppl would have rated RVD pick in diamond but they got RVD anyway, hence pick orders are less of a concern to them as per him

A bowler with not even a single 4fer against SENA countries and India, the so called world class allrounder has got just 2 fifties in his entire career against SENA countries that too both against NZ. Worst is that when he does not perform in both departments, they start to blow his good fielder tag to justify his selection. No wonder Pakistan cricket is in such a dire straits
