As someone who struggles with even finishing the campaign and new to watching Starcraft, it's incredible seeing the level of multi-tasking and strategic thinking these guys are capable of. Really cool!

@@CoqPwner thanks it's been a weird guilty pleasure of mine watching these casts almost daily. It's fascinating the depth of what these guys are capable of and how artosis can read what's going to happen from so far away and there's a system to everything these guys are doing that's part of an elaborate meta. I played StarCraft as a kid and have so much nostalgia for it but almost exclusively played with cheats and the campaign, I always got decimated in ladders so it's only now I'm seeing what that is like. It's nuts man. At least I beat the campaign fair and square as an adult now

@@JDirty-w-tha-30 If you ever finish all the campaigns and want more, might I suggest looking into the Brood War alternate and Sc alternate maps, a re imagining of the original campaigns with swapped races. There's a more standard race-swap, a coop mode to play with a friend. So much content I keep coming back to this game even though I have

@CoqPwner you know I've been considering custom campaigns and briefly heard about brood war alternate. I'll definitely check it out! I've been craving a reason to play more but feel like there's no hope in me even trying ladder at this point haha. The consideration that even goes into hotkeys and macros I'm finding out is a world of its own. So that's a great recommendation. Campaign would be a great place to practice some of those macro skills for eventual ladder play anyway

What a fun match! Gou has made a fan of me! I loved how he played in the first 2 games. The third game really showed some weakness but I think that stuff is fixable. He needs to really embrace splash damage against mass mutas!

nice comeback in game 2. I think the reason was a lot of small factors. While losing ~15 drones early game hurt a lot, zerg did have 3 hatch, 3 bases and was able to redrone quickly and the short period of time after that when zerg was most vulnerable a lot of small things went wrong for Terran. he bled a lot of marines 2-4 at a time from mutas while also losing his first 2 vessels and dropship to scourge. he also spent a lot of that time and trying to deny top right which he eventually got, but it cost him a bunch of dropships and bio and all he got was a hatchery...not really any drones or significant army kills. zerg also had very fast upgrades and had max carapace really fast which allowed him to take a lot of good engagements. it's hard to say for sure without seeing Terran's FPVOD, but I think there might have been some macro mistakes. His scv saturation seemed low and bottom right he only had like 9 scvs. I dunno, considering the number of bases he had it seemed like he should have had a bigger army and more money. His eco never really got disturbed and he was on 3-5 bases, yet he never had a vessel cloud until the end and even then it wasn't that big. yeah he made dropships and BCs, but for that many bases it just seemed to me that he should have had more stuff compared to other pro Terrans in similar situations.

Good insights. Agree 100%. I don’t think Terran ever had above 160-170 pop. Terran became stubborn and didn’t adjust. Zerg put 2-3 spores and 1-3 lurkers at the expos Terran kept dropping. You need to wipe lurkers out with vessels, otherwise it’s a suicide mission and you need to hit the front with siege. Instead, he dropped over and over again into death traps and never once saved enough irradiates to actually clear a natural.

Just watched the third game, which was, sadly, embarrassing and embodied exactly what i described above. He refused to get irradiate or valks vs a clearly heavy muta user. He even had all the tech to do it. Just silly. Goliaths are NOT good vs mutas without valk or vessel support.

Turrets cost nothing and do 20 dmg w a high atk speed and build quickly. They've had to make the maps unbuildable on 75% of the terrain bc they're OP. What more could you want? Mutas cost an arm and a leg, have shit range, no health, and do bs dmg. Every muta play is almost an all in from zerg

U can see how overpowered zerg is. All zerg did for 18 minutes was to sit on his 3 bases and use 3 apm to throw a swarm here and there to defend. Since he's only focused on his base, it's pointless to drop, that gets detected and dealt with too fast. Meanwhile terran goes up 5 bases maxed out and can't kill a 90 pop zerg due to a single zerg spell. Once zerg got ultralisk It was the obvious winner. Terran needed to switch to heavy mech like 10 minutes ago and setup defenses for his bases. Having 4 bases more than zerg means nothing, that's just 1 ultralisk and 6 zerglings to disable each of them.

Its such a shame how in Stormgate the developers claim that armor and attack upgrades are useless and pointless. They arent if you make good game design. Stuff like this where you can kill a unit or worker faster or when a unit can survive one more attack against it, that is good and interesting game design.

I really don't get this harassment with battlecruisers thing. It feels so wasteful, it does nothing and easily countered. A group of wraiths can one shot an overlord or a defiler and remain useful even if plagued.

I prefer it with the music and no korean background casting but i like it both ways I think the reason these might do worse is because the title doesn't tell you anything about what the stakes are at that point in the tournament. When you see Ro 16 Group A you know exactly what's at stake and exactly what's left in the tournament Just my 🪙 🪙 The matches are great, looking forward to more!
