Just a correction on Luster sub, you DO get damage reduction from voltage, 100 voltage is 4% dmg reduction, max at 500 voltage with 20% damage reduction.

Little Suggestion. When you are fighting dont put your closed captions over the PA bar. Its helpful to see what PA's you are using for different situations. Otherwise great guide

Gunner- a class about not getting hit and getting bonuses to hit harder. Fighter- a class about getting hit and getting bonuses to hit back harder. Gunner- a class that pew pews, flip flips, and bang bangs. Fighter a class that slice slices, *hrk hurks*, and slap slaps.

Do you think Gunner class is generally unfriendly to players using primarily an XBox or PS4 controller? I've been trying to play Gunner with an XBox One controller, but I've found there are too many things you need quick access to compared to Braver, Force, and Techter. (I won't even place the scion classes in that discussion because controller is obviously big in their design with the idea of the shift, move, and stay PAs.) Thanks for the guide! This makes me want to play the class again after maining back at the beginning of episode 6. (Don't ask about my excuse for a mobile boss damage rotation because now I'd easily consider it cursed.)

I can't say for sure since I mostly use mouse and keyboard, but from what my friends told me, it's not impossible. Yes there are things you need quick access such as having PAs on subpalettes and whatnot. You will have to quickly swap to it I believe, it's easier on keyboard for just hitting the # key, but again I don't think it's impossible. Also you will have to get used to the shoulder view when you manually locking and chaining some spots when doing CT, I imagine it's harder to do on controller? Not completely sure but it might take some practice. :D

Gunner has been my main for quite a long time and as a Ps4 controller player I can tell you my thoughts about it. So can you play Gunner with a Controller ? I'd say yes. But now if you ask me : Can you play Gunner at top level with a controller ? Then it's a no. As you mentionned there's too many things to take care of in your subpal to be eficient. Also you need to have acces to key inputs such as roll/jump/Normal Atk/ots view/some PAs all the time to manage you positioning and stay in the air without droping an inch. Add advanced techniques such as weapon swap cancel where you need to basically play with 1 one hand to switch pal with your keyboard and it becomes even more difficult. BUT ! There's a solution to be able to compete with a keyboard and this is what I use : A custom controller with more inputs. Mine has 4 buttons added behind with wich I can navigate in my subpal and Jump/activate OTS without having to remove my fingers from important moves. With this and a proper input setting, it's possible to play gunner to it's full potential even if it will require more training and dexterity than a keyboard.

I have been trying Gunner again with the controller, and as you mentioned whenever I need to weapon swap or switch across the subpalette, I end up dropping to the ground. I'll probably go keyboard because new "tournament" type controllers with the extra buttons are out of stock in my area. (Sure I could overpay for an older model but then I might as well have gotten other gaming input devices.)

I would say so, since PH sub does not provide that much % dmg bonus. Yes you may use technique, but it doesn't make up the damage loss with it's low % dmg bonus. Plus Gunner without PH sub will very likely have 100% crit at close range, the PH sub with crit doesn't seem to be that worth.
