FYI: weapons you get in the field with the Esperio augment (Like the Silver or Gold Primm sword) give extra enhancement XP when using them to upgrade weapons! The Silver one has Esperio I, and Gold has Esperio II. Using these weapons to enhance costs the same as using any other weapons, but gives you a huge boost to enhancement XP!

Whew! I got out of work and did not see your video and I got concerned. I am glad to see the video up now. NGS is fun. You start the game in Besaid and meet Blue Jecht. Then, Sin ruins the blitzball practice. After that, it was a hop, skip, and a jump to NLA on Mira. (Seriously, the game is fun, but I got huge Final Fantasy X and Xenoblade Chronicles X vibes while playing.)

The magical thing is if I mess with the settings to reduce the processing load I can set it to prioritize framerate and get a constant 60+ FPS on the original xbox one. Loving New genisis so far! Edit: I'm also brand new to the game, played maybe an hour or two of PSO2 and was extremely confused. This is my first mmorpg to date and I'm enjoying myself thoroughly!

Basically the best tutorial for a new player. I think there should be a soft cap of 10 tho for resetting all skills since its punishing to try out stuff as a new player.

another thing with the cocoons is they not all look the same some look like you shown on map but there are also cocoon lvs they appear as towers on your map so also look out for those and also the mt.magnus cocoon is a little bit tricky for some the best starting point for that one is teleport to south aelio the one at belflow falls from there you can jump down and walk through the waterfall into a cave walk that cave until you get a split for left and right take the left path until you reach the cocoon

For those who need an answer of end of tutorial once you go to central city to speak with its leader he'll send you to your rooms for the night to rest when it time skips to the following morning and he sends you to train That's actually the where the menu unlocks and you get the daily login and stuff

@keroppi If you're looking for content suggestion, I'd say make a video explaining all the weapons' individual mechanic for newer players. Like critical distance for rifles and wired lance, manual aim, multi-weapons, things that aren't really taught by the game on how to effectively do combat. Thank you, keep 'em coming

Tho thankfully, they apparently let you do key rebinds 1st thing since you made this vid cause I couldn't even function till I spent a very long 1st night with them in the village 'cause their hot-key placements & such were the bane of my existence -_- lol & don't even get me started on how hard it was to jimmy-rig their "keyboard controls" to switch fully 24/7 to my mouse since "certain things" were separate in the game controls for some reason... but I did it and now I'm having mad fun exploring New Genesis \o/!

This was a big help. I was really confused as to what I should be doing atm. I started out grinding a bit. My character is only lvl 5 though. I also feel that the long range classes seem a bit op at the start. Not many enemies are great at closing gaps.

Great guide as always. There is one thing that is not true anymore, as soon as I hit level 15 and finished all the storylines. There is an option to upgrade the world tier to level2 which will increase the enemy level to 15. The exp will no longer impact you.

The launch of pso2 in the states had absolutely no tutorial whatsoever and things that had been consistent in other phantasy star games were absent or otherworldly made unnecessarily complex. New genesis offers a more welcome environment for people who are both new to phantasy star and MMOs In general. This additional information is just icing on top of an already extremely delicious cake. I had been turned off of Pso2 because of its extreme lack of conveyance. Which made me sad because phantasy star is so important in my new life. Coming back to see that new genesis has fixed my issues with the game is a breath of fresh air. You have also restored my faith even more so. Thank you.

Great guide. More please! Maybe class guide. I struggle with the secondary abilities on the Hunter, the dodges etc. Pressing the L button on the controller and switching them with the D-pad is a pain

Timings on the hunter can be a bit unforgiving if you haven't gotten used to a system like this. (Back on base PSO2 I spent half my story quests spamming heals because you had unlimited heals in a quest.) The twin machine gun weapon action, stylish roll, is a more forgiving dodge. (It's also helpful for controllers that stylish roll by default maps to LB / L1 which is an actual button rather than LT / L2 which is a trigger that has less feedback of being pressed.) Some rebinds I've heard helping are left analog stick to weapon action, or as mentioned mapping dodge to something that is a button rather than a trigger.

I got a problem. I was foolishly impatient with my slow computer when I tried to shut it down, and it was taking too long, so I did a force shut down, and now PSO2 Steam is broken. I got a GameGuard 114 error, I can't uninstall it from steam for some reason to redownload it, and I'm completely sunk. Any ideas? EDIT: Never mind. I was able to fully delete it, and redownloaded it, and everything is working fine now. Learned my lesson though.

PSO2:NG is a completely different genre of game for me. The lag doesn't surprise me (so many players trying the game out). I admit to being lost in terms of leveling and progressing. I'm at level six and BP is 844. I just finished the introduction to Mt. Magnus story quest (up the mountain fighting DOLLS, finishing with the Nogleth). The game's many systems confuse me. I haven't figured out the sub palette system. I'm hopeless. xd That said, the game looks beautiful to me. I enjoy the combat game play. I adore the character creation process. If I can figure out how to level and progress, I might be playing this game for a long time.

Tbh, that's exactly how I felt about the original PSO2! I like the freedom you have with NGS (probably because there's no set meta yet, lol), and it feels like a much more streamlined experience to me. That said, NGS is still confusing in its own ways, and the lack of tutorials definitely does not help.

- Green boxes spawn in 1 hour i think i've played A LOT and some boxes are there respawned quickly - Look every corner, tent, cavern a red box (maybe) is in there - THE TOWER gives 4 skill point (we have 3 for now, at least the quest shows 3) BUT needs level 15, im level 10 but cleared 2 even with damage reduced DON'T DO THAT, its a PAIN it takes nearly 1 hour to do and you're one shot'ed a lot... some monsters required some cheese methods and its a pain... - Do your Main Quest (we have some bonus in Timed Quests and look the city in every corner some side quests gives the material to upgrade easy and a good money too! - PSE Burst happens a lot, look for some E on the screen and go fill the gauge, be prepared to encounter some chaos! Its fun! I've cheated a bit and used my Nox Assault Rifle+35 but the weapon will be outclassed easy - To who will farm some action in PSE Burst keep the eye on inventory its fill quick, to much weapon and affix itens - And last advice don't bother go to Urgent Quest while you're low level, the quest shuts the door in your face (has a timer to enter) if you don't have the modest 11XX BP (xx = forgot the correct number [BP = Battle Power])

I'm a new player to PSO2 in general so this game is a little confusing to me, since this game isn't really like other MMORPGs I've played. I'm mostly just confused with class builds in this game, specifically the builds with the skill tree. How much do the skill tree builds matter in this game? I understand it raises BP but how heavy is it in terms of in-game combat? And how screwed would I be if I made a not-so-efficient build as a completely F2P player?

What's a PSE burst? Edit: So it's an event that occurs when killing a creature. The event spawns hoards of creatures. I'm guessing there is good rewards at the end of it.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the random mouse acceleration? I tried lowering my polling rate on mouse and the dpi with no luck. Legit the only thing that's annoying me about the game, well the servers issue will be fixed in time but the mouse being weird is really annoying.

I really want to know who thought it was a good idea to lock you out of control settings, they CAN be adjusted if you logout to the main screen but certain settings aren't in that menu even. Had they done their tutorial right not only would that NOT be locked, the game would retroactively adjust control prompts. I have to play games in with invert Y in this game just to do that was a pain in the butt. It also seems even when you bring stuff over...they nerfed the heck out of our stuff and clearly wanted us to use the new stuff. The new BP system doesn't account for the extra skill type stuff on older weapons.

if you have them in the correct storage then outfits/outerwear will appear in ngs salon and basewears will carry over as well (you can see them in the main city salon). For mags the buffs have been distrubted through region mags put throughout the world the one you have now is just a cosmetic.

Playing on Xbox One since my PC still needs a better GPU and I accidentally used my tier 2 weapon to upgrade my tier 1 weapon. The text is really hard to read. The game runs on my PC, but the frames are so bad I can't effectively double jump. So my PC character is stuck at the tutorial dungeon. I have seen tier 2 weapons at the item vendor, it's a little expensive at 5k. But probably worth it, idk

Since graphic update was still buggy in JP and not in global, I think they should have had waited until later in month to release. Do graphic update only now and focus on fixing its issues. Then do new game 2-3 weeks later. I think that would have made things easier on bugs side

I just downloaded the game I still have to get started I got stuck at choosing a ship. I don't know how important it is to choose the right one because from what I was told is that if you choose the wrong one you can't switch unless you pay money for it.

Think of Ships as servers! I recommend picking whatever server your friends are on, however if your a solo player then pick either ship 1 or 2 as they are the most populated.

Yes unfortunately: it's one of the reasons I'm not going crazy about this game. As a player who likes pushing all the buttons, paywalling a button is a big problem. I saw in my inventory the Sega supplied N-Skill Tree Reset item, and the skill trainer as shown in this video still has the pay money to reset or buy skill trees buttons.
