TL:DR: The rating is ONLY being changed to PEGI 18 because of the gambling aspect of the game, because of the Gacha and lootbox mechanics. Don't expect censorship to go out of windows

Quite frankly, even at 18+, I still see many games with censored contents. I was like "It's rating MATURE, do you even know what that means?"

In response to your point, if you're in America, they may not understand what that means. They want you to see what they want you to see, not what you wish to see. That's just the way it is. It's about people who have never played a game or anything similar trying to control how it works without understanding it. Essentially, they're attempting to assert that their moral stance is correct and others are wrong. So, it boils down to them being ignorant. And the fact is, they're trying to coerce you into believing that their perspective is correct and yours is not. That's all there is to it.

Not everyone around the world are tall Euros, but there are a few minority of them who are short; that still isolates their shorter minorities and the rest of the world who have much much shorter averages, particularly in some communities. That's kind of racist of the PEGI but PEGI is a regulator located in the EU so I suppose it makes sense they regulate according to there? Lol. This is sort of like Western cultural appropriation being exported out of the EU to all non-Japan places, and to Western countries that don't have a stupid regulation like PEGI 16 for height lol

I think this may actually explain why the base game was turned into DLC. It wasn't about the download size. It was about the Casino in the base game. It was a quick fix that probably allowed them to hold on to the PEGI 16 rating a little bit longer. And now with a campaign that actually promotes playing the Casino games, they're actively enticing players to get the base game DLC.

Is the minimum height limit being the result of PEGI a confirmed thing? I always assumed it was solely due to SEGA not wanting to deal with people in the west being angry at small characters. There are other games that take that even further. I don't think we'll see the height limit removed at this point, or ever.

When the game released here in the states we had shorter characters. They raised the minimum hight after release in one of the first patches. It was done to detur pedos and to avoid the loli term because apparently "any time a westerner sees a short girl with adult dimensions it's automatically a loli... like westerners have never seen a 4ft tall grown woman before."

They said nothing is going to change so no 142cm characters and they gave us the uncensored versions of Gene, Matoi, Hitsugi(dress has more obvious panty shots) and Harriette’s outfits already unlike in base game. They seemed pretty adamant that the height restriction in global was something that they wanted to do everywhere, but kowtowed to Japan in the end.

@@rllgr3356 lolicon and Lolita aesthetic aren’t the same thing. Many “loli” characters aren’t lolicon, but all lolicon characters are loli. If that makes sense? These is also a spectrum of Lolita art that ranges from high Edwardian/Gothic Lolita which is pretty much about the porcelain doll and posh aesthetic of the era, which is pretty much accept as art/fashion. Then there is anime loli which is normally more of this type of style but there can be a fan service element too. Then there is the moe/fans service trope of Lolicon which is normally harmless or clearly a risqué art choice for a character. These two are about 99% of the Lolita characters in anime/manga/games. Then there is fetish lolicon which is pretty gross at best and CP at worst.

I'm fairly certain the change is because base PSO2 has a Casino and thats considered simulate gambling. Gacha mechanics aren't considered simulated gambling yet as games Like Zenless Zone Zero for example got a 12+ age rating. Though the fact that in PSO2 they are called scratch tickets might be part of it since scratch tickets irl are gambling.

Kero I don't think that's accurate about the rating the change in rating probably has to do with the scratches. in European country like Belgium it is consider gambling that's why the rating changed in Europe. It was already Mature (17+) in the US I don't think lewdness had anything to do with that. if you check the xbox europe page of NGS they list just gambling nothing else.
