The "This game cannot be started" error mostly happens on unmodded psp, if you trying to launch a unsigned homebrew. Also, there is "UMD Disk Read Error", that happens if UMD disk or drive itself is damaged. There actually a entire list of different errors on psp with respective error codes.

It also happens if the four metal prongs pushing the umd to the umd reader or pushed down. When this happens the psp cant read the umd. Thus making it say the error “The game cannot be started”

I experienced an interesting glitch on my modified PSP Street (E1004-CB): If you running an game using stronger graphics or unusual engine (Gun: Showdown for example), and if you exit from the game, XMB's and game preview visuals starts to glitch. It also happens if your Memory Stick is shortly corrupted or dying.

1. RSoD - Can possibly be caused by overheating try to remove the battery: Leave it out for a few minutes and try booting the PSP up again. 2. BSoD can happen if system or game flies are missing/corrupt. Try pressing and holding circle for a few seconds, this will cause a power wash (hard factory reset.) And it should fix the issue.

Either your BIOS has to be corrupted, a necessary component dies, or something has to be wrong with your system. Maybe even some flies might be missing (rare to get it on PSP) (all models) 2. I recently modded my PSP from custom firmware 5.50 to 6.61 Pro C Infinity. Apparently a blue screen of death is pretty much a requirement for installing the custom firmware. *_A small price to pay for salvation_*

But sometimes, it fails. At first, we got a normal PlayStation 2 intro. There is this Sony Computer Enterteimant Logo, and then it reads that IS a PS2 disc, so we got the PlayStation 2 text. A big 5 second pause appears, and then... RSOD! YEAH! IDK why this happens sometimes, maybe the console is overheated (i usually play Worms 4 Mayhem, Crash Twinsanity or Kingdom Hearts for 4 hours), but... WTF? Maybe cause' it is a used console... I. Don't. Know. (Sorry for my Bad English, i'm Russian and i'm learning it)

BSoD You can easyly obtain by force downgrading psp(any model). The problem about it, that i remember doing it only on a modifyed firmware with M33 recovery menu.

My PSP Go's internal storage got corrupted. Is this common or something. I was just trying to install isos on it and now internal can neither be formatted nor writed on. Every game appears corrupted. Afterwards, I installed another recovery and update file through a memory stick M2 and the games can be read and played. But the problem is that they still can't be deleted at all. Also, it doesn't allow saving game progress as well. Is their any solution for this except using only a memory stick from now...
