Also, a house elf is like servant until their master gives them an article of clothing to free them. That is also why they wear pillowcases so they don't touch clothing

Look, Paul & Shannon, it really pained me how much you didn't know/forgot about the Harry Potter series, I will now create an explanation for you; Hermione's cat: Crookshanks Hedwig: is a she Why Dobby is with Draco: Dobby used to belong to Draco's dad, until harry set him free in the 2nd book/movie 'Magonagle's cat": If you don't remember, in the first movie, at the beginning, we see a shadow of a cat, turning into Moganagle. Just letting you know nicely Shannon & Paul, that Hagrid's pet is Fang(Boy), Hermione's pet is Crookshanks(Boy), Harry's pet is Hedwig( the owl and she is a girl), Voldemort's pet is Nagini(Girl), Dobby is with Draco because Dobby WAS Draco's house elf(a servant of Draco's family) until Harry freed Dobby by giving him his sock, the only way you can release a house elf is by presenting them with clothes and I believe they can only be freed is if their master presents a piece of clothing to them, Harry pulls off his sock and places it inside Voldermort's diary and then gives it back to Lucius Malfoy, Draco's father, who in turn shoves the book at Dobby, Harry then mouths to Dobby to open it, Dobby doing so finds the sock and says to Lucius "Master has given Dobby a sock, Dobby is free!". And the Cat with Professor McGonagall is actually professor McGongall herself she is what is know as an animagus, she can basically turn into a cat, so sorry that this is very long. Also if I've made any mistakes please correct and I'm sorry, I have read the books but am going of off the movies so sorry again in advance if I've messed up anywhere :)

Yes this is a few years late but here we go. 1.Hagrid is only 1/2 giant 2. Rons rat is Scampers which is also Peter Pettigrew 3. Draco has Dobby as a "pet" because up until Harry hid a sock in the book Lucius Malfoy gave Dobby, Dobby was the Malfoy families house elf. (Dobby became a free elf when his master, Lucius, presented him with clothing other than his rags he wore) 4. as others have stated Professor Minerva McGonagall is the cat. 5. The snakes name is Nagini ( just a reminder)
