The PSVR2 just became the best true PCVR headset with OLED displays and Displayport Technology, the native resolution of the headset is just right and will not need a GPU/CPU upgrade if you already own a Reverb G2 for example since they both have a very similar resolution, those Fresnel lenses really bring out the best in those beautiful OLED panels, Sony really new what they were doing when they designed the PSVR2..

The problem with going back to a 2000 card is it isn't powerful. I want to run my VR on my 4090. Worth buying the adaptor for the rest of us

Doesn't your 4090 have a usb-c port on it? I have a 3060ti and I use my quest 3 via link to play all the time. I was told I csn plug my psvr2 into it and not get the adapter. I don't know why a 4090 wouldn't have the usb-c port.

@@basketcas3717 The Quest 3 image is compressed even when wired. The 3000 and 4000 series GPUs don’t have VirtualLink ports.

Absolutely loved Skyrim back then on the Psvr1. Still disappointed it’s not playable on the Psvr2 with Ps5 but I’m glad it’s now possible with the Pc adapter.

Got very surprised by your reaction to how clear the image was on pc. And I have major fomo when it comes to the re-games and No Man's Sky 😁

@@S1MONSAYSVR Ok, you're right to be interested, so. Catch a sale wave or even 2nd hand (carefully). It's this era's HP Reverb G2 or Samsung Odyssey. The OLED by itself makes this a value proposition, and the compression free cable is silly good fun on the visual end.

For the average person, I'd call the lack of compression, the lighting in headset, and the gorgeous colors as a 'nice to have' and icing on the cake for those who can already play PCVR with another device. It's a bit like Switch OLED. If you have original model, you likely wouldn't buy another. Being totally honest with myself, even with such a great impression of the OLED panel/compression/etc. for ease of use (and not needing to pair the controllers back to my console every week), I'll probably end up slumping begrudgingly back to my Quest 3 for PCVR, soon. Having an easy-to-pick-up-and-play experience with PSVR + PS5 is just worth more to me than the added extras of having this on PC VR... But I'm serious about wanting these features in a future headset, now. I can't un-see that clear, no compression image.

@@betonman9 We can fix that with CBBE. It works a bit like eye tracking does with dynamic foveated rendering. You'll never see those low quality environmental textures again. Works like magic. Your attention will be elsewhere.

Just ordered the psvr2 pc adapter and asus Bluetooth adapter at best buy. Had to refresh the best buy page for hours until it finally was available, not arriving until August 28 but at least its ordered! Actually have a founders addition rtx 2080ti, but I got a 4090 I got to try this out on. I have a quest 3, but I want those inky oled blacks! Having a LG c2 oled tv spoiled me.

You probably figured this out by now but playing through Revive requires to set sound output to PVR2 and it somehow gets redirected to main sound channels like a third party headset.

Nope, I haven't figured it out yet. I'm not sure I'm following your helpful tip, here. So, by setting the sound output to PSVR2 (where?), what happens? I'm trying to get the output to voice on my PC and not the 3.5mm jack on the headset, else my audience can't hear it and neither can I.

Fluorescent lights are the same frequency as Bluetooth so your overheads might be interfering.

@@Zimtok5I’m less sure of that because you get your adapter out very close. It could also be the streaming lights because I’ve noticed that super bright lights messes with the tracking similar to low lights but this is the first time I’ve caught your stream. Do you stream ps5 gameplay in the same location because I’d think interference and lighting issues would be the same on it. Anyway you could try with different lighting configs to see if that helps. I can’t compare yet because my adapter from Amazon has been sitting on ordered for over 24 hrs now with “we’ll email when it ships” status.

@@nullzero Yes, same spot. No tracking issues normally. I just don't know why the 2nd one (perhaps operating on a different band with more interference?) is the problem.

Just bumble into your channel. Your testing is the only one which changed my perception. I did picked pavr2 day one and sold it 3rd day because of reprojection and blur. Then went to pc race and saved for quest pro and 4090. But seems link psvr with no compression really nails it.. although it can't beat quest tracking. GOOD VIDEO. SUBBED

got my adapter and it worked right out box,,I did update my bluetooth drivers on my motherboard before I got the adapter also I only have the psvr controllers in bluetooth nothing else connected.

On Quest I have V68, but no adaptive brightness. If you have the content adaptive brightness feature please compare it to your OLED in dark scenes. Obviously the OLED would be much better, but I feel like without the adaptive contrast and brightness games like Dread Halls would be almost unplayable or would be more/less a whole different game on the Quest especially compared to an OLED. I feel like having the adaptive brightness would feel like the same game, only more drab in every way. Also on Quest 3 are you on WIFI 6E?

Adaptive brightness can get you halfway there. Without, in games like Cosmodread, the difference is stark between a grey scale standalone and an OLED fully complemented game with darks, shadows, and similar effects. Yes, Wi-Fi 6E, dedicated router for VR that's 5 feet from my play space.

If there's a software update coming, I doubt I have it (or haven't noticed) but Q3 is notably less grey than Q2 due to the panel, so my remark was on that basis. But PSVR2 OLED black is entirely dark and hence horrifyingly eerie; which is exactly what a horror fan wants.

It will be interesting to see if you compare the quality of the connection via the Psvr 2 adapter. There is a connection to the PC via Display port. I would be interested to know if there will be a difference in picture quality?

Guys I really need to know this: I have been using the CV1 for several years and I am very fond of it, the Oculus software is impeccable (compared to the cumbersome SteamVR) and I also think the tracking with the sensors is perfect, I want to understand if it is worth it for me buy a Quest 3 or a PSVR2, with one I would have the portability and many other features, with the other I would have the true PCVR OLED upgrade..

@@sebqstjan My current suggestion would be for Quest 3, but rather than using cable (which frankly would be good for your needs), I might suggest picking up a Wi-Fi 6E router that you position near your play space and use Virtual Desktop. The battery on Quest 3 is pretty weak - you get 2 hours - so I couple with the Zyber battery bank that sits around your neck and use their headstrap, which has a tiny cable clip and 10-degree bend for a great combo that won't break the bank. The PSVR2 would be a considerable option only if you had a PS5 already, I think. Quest 3 is a stronger all-rounder, even with the impressive features of PSVR2.

How did you get VirtualLink (me - AMD RX 7900 XTX) to work with Sony app? I got headset Video to work with iVRy Driver for SteamVR and Xbox Controller but not Sony app/controller or driver. Bluetooth connection was not a big issue for me.

It was no fuss at all. I just installed from Steam. Only the Bluetooth connection was a little tricky; I had to find the correct dongle and update the BT drivers before the controllers would connect happily.

(Basically, I was lucky with my motherboard) It is the PSVR2 Headset talking to VirtualLink via Sony app. Headset works iVRy driver for SteamVR using VirtualLink (me - AMD RX 7900 XTX) my Sony app freezes and fails on same VirtualLink. Now, I am waiting for Sony PC Adapter?

@@Zimtok5 It looks like OpenXR is only supported through SteamVR, which is not ideal. Overall this looks like a great replacement for Index and WMR. I have a Crystal, which is great for sims, but I enjoy standing VR as well and it is just too bulky and the cable is a bit too short. It's impossible to ignore that you are wearing a headset. I've been watching F. Reality and it's predecessor for years and never knew you had your own channel.

Your video is interesting, but I am very sick and tired of listening to whoever that is who keeps interrupting you when trying to explain what is going on to us about the PSVR headset. I have a hard time following what you are doing when that person keeps interrupting you. How come you don't have anything in your description about the recommended hardware you used to get the PSVR headset to work the way it does in the video. Welcome! And yes, I may need to 'tone down' our text-to-speech; but my shows have always been about interactivity, so call that an acquired taste. Thanks for the feedback as we just implemented a dedicated bot my wife wrote and it 'sped up' the response times which may make this a bit more annoying. What would you like to know about the setup? Only the Bluetooth UB500 dongle is what you need. Aside from that it's really just a USB 2.0 extension cable (in a USB 2.0 port), and the dongle. Then, just plug the headset into the VirtualLink port. Optionally, like I do - extend that cable out with a 1m UGREEN USB-C extender and if you're worried about damaging the port, get a magsafe connector so it pulls away without damaging the port if you trip on the cable. gear.Zimtok5.com for more! Because the games you play on it have simple geometry so the image will be quite clear even if you wirelessly encode the feed. If you play Skyrim with ridiculous grass and foliage mods, the compression artifacts will start popping up like crazy. Been having this issue on both my Quest 3 and Quest Pro.
