I used to also limit the cash to i think it was 2000, and the only way you can have tanks is build power plant then build refinery, sell power plant so you had enough cash to build the refinery, build power plant build factory and slaughter the enemy who are ww1 tech with tanks and aircraft

It's funny that the PS version of Red Alert, while inferior to the PC version with regards to graphics being simplified, having lower resolution and lower quality sound, actually has much better user interface and also the list of pending objectives in the NES style font is pretty cool.

still play this on ps3 :) ... The game i played the most recalculated in day's.... Anyone played this game with 2 TV's and 2 ps one's and a link cable??? Haha i remember me and my cuz doing this, tv hauling and changeing interior of the room was the hardest part before we could play :p (big ass heavy tv's from back in the day's) ... They should make a remaster version of this for ps4 and add few new lil things to it, but still keep it basic 'like this' not like red alert 3 (ps3) ...

The rainbow tornado thingy was a chronovortex. But I didn't know that back then. I just thought it was a tesla lightning storm since it'd shoot out tesla bolts at everything.

The retaliation part is the hardest campaign among other series. I hadn't finished it. :/ ( I was playing this game when I was 8-10 years old, but maybe today I'm able to finish it).

its a shame that the pc version has awful build menus. 2 columns to build either a structure or a unit, where as the PSX version lets you select categories to then build something.

I had found only soviet disc file for an emulator once (now I don't have it anymore). But even if I had both of them right now, I wouldn't have the will or time to play it myself - it's a pretty hard game and it would take a while to learn all the details, best strategies about the game or get used to the emulator controls :)

I used to play the crap out of this game back in the late 1990's. Then I sold the game years back. However I had bought one on E-bay not too long ago, brings back tons of memories. I know why they sold it, the tracks skip. The game plays fine though.:/

I'm 28, I played it when it came out, I remember buying a Sega Saturn console just so I could play the original command and conquer and bought a ps1 just to play red alert. I "wigged" out playing red alert and had a great teenage pass-time playing red alert 2. Too bad the quality of cnc went to shit on red alert 3 and its death from cnc4 :(.

So map 36 gets a lot of attention but it’s very annoying when when the gems run out. Anyone know a map with enough ore for 4 teams. Map 36 comes to a stand still after a while . (I know you can mine on the outside but the computer teams don’t) .
