This was so awesome... Hasn't been anything since that compares. Closest thing I've found (in fun factor) is Swing Racers (it's only on iPad/iPhone though). Just has that faster "feel" about it like the originals, compared to newer stuff like toybox turbos etc.

Played the hell outta this game back in the early oughties. I still do have that disc with the PC version on it, but I had to make a backup copy due to extensive wear :( Best Micro Machines IMHO - lots of interesting tracks, vehicles, weapons, and game modes. It's chock full of content, a racing game done right. And it still was reminiscent of the original NES game I also played when I was a little kid.

My father played this game when I was little, but at some point he lost the disk and I could never play it myself, as it would ask me to put in the cd after choosing game options. I would actually play the game, though, just doing the mode select. Because of that the music there is very nostalgic to me!

this is quite easily one of the hardest racing games on the ps1 because of the way and how fast the CPU drivers are in the catorgories from difficult upwards! If you make more than one small mistake your quite literally fucked and the CPU will punish you like fuck for it. a racing game that requires near to/if not perfect mastery. still a fantastic game though :)
