In regards to what you said at the end of the video, this is how i always saw Henry and Shawn's detective skill levels. Henry was a great detective. But probably only slightly better than Lassiter (you'll see as the show continues that Lassiter is a really great detective.) When Shawn was a kid, he was gifted. Henry saw that teaching Shawn would make him unstoppable. Shawn obviously went a completely different direction than Henry, only to end up doing basically the same job but in his own rebellious way. Honestly i doubt Shawn would be half the detective he is if he'd just gone to the police academy and worked his way up. Shawn has a natural advantage over Henry. But in regards to being a detective, thats only because Henry knew exactly how and what to teach him. With plenty of mistakes along the way, but that's just parenting i guess.

Shawn also have advantage over Henry because of that he inherited from his Mom, Henry never have that set of skills

Court, at least criminal court and in some states, family court as well, is generally public in the US, aside from things like gruesome evidence photos, child testimonies, or if there are very high profile people involved. Post covid, a lot of court proceedings are held via zoom and just about anyone can be in the audience and even record and post online unless there's a reason it shouldn't be public. You can find tons of these videos on KZbin. For better or for worse, part of going to court is making a lot of business public that you might prefer to keep private.

Yes anyone can sit in to watch a trial. It's called "open court". some parts might be held in camera, such as motions discussed in judges chambers. Also trials with "national security" at the heart of them might be held in secret.

No Swans dad does not have the same abilities as his son Henry is just a cop with that's really great at deduction in ways he's similar to the character Minecraft which is Sherlock holmes's brother and like Minecraft Henry is just as smart maybe even smarter than Swan is
