Retired shrink here. Don't take it so seriously. Most people are beyond help outside an institution., and the meds, especially SSRI's are way over rated. It's changed a lot. Most shrinks are just animated script pads who specialize in filling out DSM axis categories. ARNP's have become the mainstay of the business, although much less qualified, much less insightful but with even more ready script pads..
