An easier way to tell if someone likes you a lot is that they make it a point to be in your life and to know how you're doing. They show genuine concern for your well-being even when it is not warranted or asked for... And then people self sabotage by not being honest about how they truly feel. I think the drive to be "polite" to others or being aggressive to avoid others equally turns people off from wanting to love or help other people and this is very common because one way or the other someone is always giving more to someone than the other and sometimes when you really need someone to care they just aren't there.

Something that I've noticed and I think it fills in the physical touch category is that everytime I have a hoodie or a coat anything that has a hood attached to it he likes to joke around and either put it on me or take it down. He does that with my hats as well and then puts it back himself. He finds other reasons to touch me "accidently" or not but this happens on a regular basis. He also put a fake bird in my hair once and then took it down, it was cute. He does other stuff on the list too but another thing that is pretty noticeable is he looks at me from across the room or a group while having a huge grin on his face, he looks very cute when he does this too. I must admit I haven't had a crush since my last relationship with a girl who broke up with me and hadn't had a crush on a guy since 4 years ago, I feel quite stupid when I lay awake at night just analyzing our conversations. There's a video by Dr. Helen Fisher, "the brain in love." Basically, sometimes being liked is not your choice...it's dependent on a lot of coincidence and time. It's dependent on factors like if your body produces chemicals, genetic signals that pair up well with another. So that person that pairs with you well needs to be proximate enough with you and for enough amount of time for their body to process your body's release of chemicals. It also depends on other factors like aligned values, interests, level of attractiveness, intelligence. So there are two types of responses in what make a person recognize if they like you: one is an instantaneous reaction from the body, subconscious, and not your choice i.e. does this person's chemicals work well with mine? The other takes a lot of time...it takes a lot of time to know what a person's values and interests are. So maybe it's not that you're unlikable, you are just yet to meet a person who both biological matches up with you + spends enough time to get to know you. I think my best advice to you in not having a crush nor being crushed on is to spend time doing things you like and building friendships. Romance will happen when you might not expect it :)

So this is gonna be pretty long but I just wanna get this off my chest My crush has shown some pretty big signs that she likes me. We used to text a ton, she goes up to me and talks to randomly, she set my birthday in her calendar to celebrate it probably, and she even initiated physical contact like putting her head on my shoulder, touching my lips, and we sometimes wrapped our legs together in class and just stayed like that for the rest of the period. I was legitimately hopeful that she liked me back, but then I realized, oh wait, she has a boyfriend. And I actually knew that for a long time now. Even in middle school when we first met, she had a boyfriend. And I never tried to move on. We’ve known each other for almost two years now, and she’s gotten like two or three boyfriends within that time. I was in denial for all that time because I couldn’t move forward and she showed a lot of signs that she liked me. I’ve even had these revelations a couple times now, and every single time I’ve just ignored it. I honestly have no doubt that I’m just gonna ignore it again and just continue chasing her. I really wish I wasn’t like that, but I just can’t stop myself. I’ve never seen her do the things she does to me to other people. She’s never touched people like she touches me, she doesn’t just go up to other people and talk to them, she never asked for other people’s birthdays and noted it. She’s never done any of this to my knowledge. But that’s when I realized, oh wait, I’m only in one class with her, she might do these kinds of things to people in her other classes too. And I don’t even know about the other people in her life outside of school. But even if I was the only person she acted this way to, even if she didn’t have a boyfriend, she still couldn’t have liked me. See, I made a huge dumbass mistake in middle school where I basically indirectly confessed to her and the entire class found out. So she obviously knows that I like her. If she liked me back, why wouldn’t she tell me? She never said anything about the entire thing, but she clearly knows and would’ve confessed if she really felt the same way. I honestly really fucking hate myself for blatantly ignoring the fact that she doesn’t like me, being aware of it, and still chasing her anyway. But no matter how hard I try, I just can’t get rid of my feelings for her. A long ass summer vacation where I didnt see her at all didn’t do anything, ghosting her twice didn’t do anything, because I always ended up talking to her again eventually, and just acting normally around her just isn’t possible for me. She and I are really good friends somehow, and she even considers me a best friend somehow even though I can never fucking initiate or even maintain a conversation with her. But goddammit I really wish I could just move on. She’s honestly an amazing person but I need to know when to give up.
