ChuksK Gaming It’s even worse in my native language where the meanings for asocial and antisocial are literally switched. „Asocial“ has the connotation of a lowlife who is socially and often mentally impaired and constantly being a dick to others while people like introverts are considered „antisocial“, even though that’s not what these words mean. Hello! After watching this video, try not to self diagnosing and proclaiming yourself. Because all disorders explained here really are an abnormal way of thinking, behaving, and functioning as the video said in the beginning. So, feeling those symptomps just in a normal conscious way doesn't mean you have disorders mentioned. But if you really do feel it abnormally in yourself, go see therapist or psychologist immediately. Keep your mind healthy, everyone! Have a good day 🌞

Right?! I can't speak for people with mental illnesses or people with personality disorders but I feel like the way that things in these videos are explained make it easy for people without mental illness to self diagnose. I truly enjoy this channel's effort to educate and spread awareness but I feel like there's a slightly better way to do things that really shows the difference between someone without a mental illness and someone with it. I also can't help but feel like how they explain it slightly unfairly portrays how much people with mental illness struggle. Many people in my family struggle with mental illness so I've seen it firsthand and while I cannot speak out about it myself I feel as if it just paints the struggles of mental illness as a normal person with slightly abnormal traits which isn't always the case.

@@kermperm5277 same here. I'm taking notes to talk to my psychiatrist about some of these that way I don't self diagnose. I think it's easier to take notes from these vids rather than going down a research rabbit hole on the web like I tend to do ending up who knows where. I do love these videos!! They're very helpful. I do have BPD actually and OCD. I forget if I've officially been diagnosed or not but I know my BPD therapist says I def do have it so I will have to talk to her about that as well. It's strange because I know that BPD can come. with a cluster of other disorders but aren't at least to me, aren't as major. I wonder what the difference is between that and the term cluster used here. (btw just a general question asking everyone or someone who knows can reply OP, you don't have to answer haha)

My favorite personality disorder to learn about is Anti-Social Disorder, I think the author of the book “My Sister Rosa” portrays this extremely well in their book. It gives an example of a young girl with the disorder, and also an older boy who has the same disorder. The book is about how their different childhoods and how they where raised determined how the disorder effected their life. The ultimate Nature and Nurture!

Oh... I'm schizotypal... That's why I often mistook plants as dangerous persons, or the cupboard, I always seem to see a lady peering behind the tiny glass doors with big eyes and a creepy smile while in reality they are just boxes of cereals... I often get perceptual distortions, I hate it when I get perceptual distortions, especially in the middle of the night. One time, I went to get a glass of water in the kitchen half-past 2 am, I looked at the cupboard and saw an eye, I dropped my glass of water and screamed, I got scolded for it. Being schizotypal is not easy, mistaking something for what it's not can give someone a heart attack

I really appreciate your objective take on BPD. Coming from someone with BPD, the animations were very relatable and made me feel warm inside :') However, I have one gripe with this. People with AVPD do not just "not want to make friends," they are terrified to. I imagine it as an evolved and more complex version of Social Anxiety disorder as they share many similarities. I see this particular disorder as having multiple tiers. From lowest to highest it goes: 1. Social Anxiety 2. Agoraphobia/Claustrophobia 3. Avoidant traits 4. Avoidant Personality Disorder People who have it completely and outright avoid potentially anxiety-triggering situations, even if they desire to be in them. The way my old partner described it goes as follows: "It's like you really wanna go out to that party with your friend, but you have a terrified person right behind you trying desperately to convince you not to go because something terrible might happen. This person will go so far as to physically prevent you from stepping foot out your door until you give in an accept the fact that you're staying home that night and you won't be going out tomorrow as well" This is a very general description of how it feels, but I understand. It's not just social anxiety, it's not just not wanting friends. Social anxiety, for me, only ever happens when I am around people and never when I'm in the process of going to the event. Avoidant personality disorder prevents you from experiencing an anxiety or depression triggering event by means of brute force. You are left with nothing but the comfort that there MAYYBE was a potential crisis that you averted. It's the uncertainty that really fucking kills. By the way, I have prominent avoidant traits, but I am one symptom criteria off from being diagnosed with it. It's not that we don't want friends, it's that our mind is holding us back from doing the things we really want to do because we're so scared that "something" might go wrong and that "something" is almost always vague and undefined.

Please remember not to self diagnose or diagnose other people with the stuff you see in this video. The purpose of these videos is to provide some information and shed some light on these subjects. And maybe help you understand people suffering from these disorders but know that it is NOT A DIAGNOSIS. You may depend a lot on people, sometimes even to a toxic degree. But that does not mean you have DPD, etc. (Btw these videos are well done thanks Psych2Go)

I relalated so much to avoidant persoanlity disorder and borderline personality disorder. I started self harming quite impulsively about 1 year ago, then I started dissociating severely and intensely fearing rejection, abandonment, and loneliness. My moods would swing from hour to hour, and swing from being intensely euphoric to depressed and angry. I also started becoming really paranoid of others, I felt that my own mother was trying to poison me intentionally. I've technically always been very shy, but in my teenage years i started to feel inadequate and inferior to others. I started to cut contact with people and I dropped out of school to do home education. I never even tried to make friends at school because of my intense feelings of inadequacy and inferiority, as well as my intense fear of rejection. Thank you so much for making this video, I really enjoyed it. Much love from australia

It’s extreme I know but that’s just how my mind works, it stems from childhood trauma. My emotions shift so rapidly and are hard to manage so I go to extreme lengths for relief like self harm. It makes me believe I have every disorder on the planet and I’ve been misdiagnosed many times. I am awful in relationships and my romantic life is a mess. HPD is really not all games and rainbows and acting in the spotlight. Plus on top of that I have Bipolar and anxiety which makes it 1000x worse :(

I think as a kid with me being bullied and physically harassed and then eventually physically and sexually harassed as a teen by my own peers. I think I may've experience schizotypal personality disorder as way to deal with the stress of being targeted also I use to talk to myself alot back then, it's still is a habit now........ when im in the house but its less frequent today. I'm 31 now and I just started to get therapy this year I've been in a few sessions but I think I may have to go to another Mental Health Center cuz they said there's nothing wrong with me, but I'm not sure about this.

You should do an updated video focusing on the difference between bipolar, histrionic, and NPD please. My mother was abusive, mentally physically and sexually. Both to me and my dad and stepdad. She’s engaged in very prolific risky sexual behavior, drugs, she’s been fired from every single job she’s ever had except one, so she has her own business now, and she is very much aware of other peoples emotions, but she extremely lacks empathy. She has what I often call the savior complex, where she loves being worshiped, she will be extraordinarily generous, but when you start Getting a back bone and she’s extremely abusive and can see the worst things possible. And example for me as a kid, I was the only baby she kept, she aborted my brothers and sisters before and after me. And she told me because I was the one she kept I/Owe her. Sometimes when she was love bombing she could be so much fun, but when I saw her grooming my oldest daughter who is a perfect supply for a narcissist, she’s excitable, fun, loves gifts and is very enthusiastic and sweet, I knew I had to cut her off. I find your videos very cathartic and helpful. I sent them to my husband because she abused and manipulated him too verbally. She’s been diagnosed as bipolar, but I’m wondering if it’s histrionic. She refuses to ever get any more treatment, and I think it’s because there’s no treatment for narcissism. She’s also an ESFP (I’m an INFJ), I actually find The Myers-Briggs a helpful tool because it helps me to understand where she sees the world from and how she makes her decisions. Thank you!

I personally think your "team" needs to do more research before publishing information like this. you continuously are getting information wrong in your videos and do not notice until someone corrects you in the comment section. one quick example that you've already addressed -- "multiple personality disorder" has been changed to "dissociative identity disorder" yearrss ago and it's very very easy to discover that if you googled mpd. mistakes are allowed to happen but hire someone on your team with an actual PhD in psychology. not everyone reads the comments and are getting incorrect information from what, to them, seems like a reputable source

Guys that manipulate, hurt, and don’t respect my boundaries. In a messed up way, i also find myself being sexually attracted to those guys despite trying to not to. Hence why I hated being called "antisocial" when people thought I didn't like to socialize. I'm like, bruh, I empathize with people, I just don't like to be social and tend to struggle picking up on social cues. The proper term for me, which I'm not sure I have this personality disorder, but if I did, it certainly isn't "antisocial" but probably schizoid. Also, since people tend to mix these three up: Schizoid Versus Avoidant Versus social anxiety disorder. Schizoid and those with SAD want to make friends still and will still interact. People with SAD, however, will have anxiety over socializing often with fear of rejection or making a social mistake. The last part is how SAD overlaps with AvPD, but AvPD is different in that they will go to an extreme of avoiding social situations(moreso than someone with Schizoid). Like, they'll even avoid extremely important stuff such as school or work. That's how far that goes. As someone who's likely Schizoid, I still see the absolut importance of going to work or school and would never miss it, even though I dislike being there. Though I also diagnosed with SAD, so that complicates things, but they determined I had that and likely Schizoid(even though AvPD almost sounds like the combo of the two) because AvPD takes avoidance to a whole new level that those with Schizoid would never do. Additionally, AvPD people don't even want friends while those with the other two would(as is the case with me, I still like having friends, though I likely have SAD and Schizoid). So there go, that's the primary differences between them. Which actually, I might recommend Psych2Go make a video on that. Tired of people mixing them together lol.
@somber087

Actually you're wrong. Schizoids are the ones who don't want friends/connections. Those with avpd do want friends but are afraid of criticism, embarassment or rejection.

I was diagnosed bpd around 3 years ago, and honestly, the worst part of it for me is the paranoid thoughts and fear of abandonment. i almost never see people talking about paranoia in bpd, but this is something that affects every part of my life. i always have this persistent feeling that everyone secretly hates me and are out to get me. it’s so bad that i can’t concentrate on anything else because i’m so stressed out about it. i always imagine that i’m being abandoned or about to be abandoned and ruin my relationships with people without realizing it. my fear only ends up pushing them away. something else that affects me a lot is that constant feeling of emptiness. i have never turned to drugs or sex, but i have indulged in reckless spending just to feel something. i always change interests and hobbies because i get bored so easily and go back to feeling empty. my self esteem is really unstable too. one day i’ll be feeling good about myself, almost to a narcissistic level, and then the next i’ll feel so awful that my mind is plagued by intrusive thoughts about how bad i think i am. another part of bpd that people rarely touch on is the psychotic features some of us may have. i have hallucinations and delusions, and have been misdiagnosed with bipolar 1 disorder. all in all it’s an awful disorder to have, and i wish more people understood us.

I thought I have BPD or maybe I did, but it had stopped or turn incredibly mild. I'm a pride and envious person. I had a friend who I am very independent with, I'm obsessed and very clingy to her. She's introverted so she HATES it. We're not close but I still want her. 1. We faught all the time to the point I tried to murder and plan to murder her. I hated her, harass , bully and annoy her(we sat beside eachother) purposely, I think about how I hated her. For a whole hour of hating her "Hey, teacher gave us homework" she said to me just like that I LOVED her again, wanted her. "Oh she's so nice", "Why did I hate her??", "She's SOOOOO SMART" I thought. It also happen when I'm with my other friend"Ugh she's late","useless , pathetic, vulnerable prick","she's so stupid", I thought. "Oh (my name) there you are! I was searching for you" my friend said. Then I started to love her again. It was so confusing, it also happens often. When I mean "hate", I mean "gonna do some huge event that will crush her like "Hurting","unfriending",killing" or "harass" them" kind of hate. When I mean "love", I mean "Praising","she deserves everything","angel","So pure of heart I NEEED HER" type of love. 2. I sometimes get so lonely I started to shake and cry randomly.like, While watching a video and just be like...."Why does she hates me... No one understand me... I need someone.. something". Even when people are around me . 3. Sometimes I'm convince that I'm the only one alive... Everyone is else is following a pattern, program. Though I'm sorta a religious person , so those thoughts doesn't stay for to long. 4. Trust worthy? I don't know about that, I don't seem to have a problem telling people about my emotion. I trust her with all of my information if that's what you mean. But relationship? Nah, I follow her everywhere, I get jealous if people talk to her or if she talks to people for to long, I don't like her whispering to anyone, I don't like when my friends sends note or do something together and enjoy it but wouldn't tell me. I HATE IT Those emotions of loneliness, sudden mood swings, people aren't real, not trustworthy. Those are BPD symptoms that I have and the reason I point them out. But I stop having those emotions now's since me and her are very close so I have no reason to be sad. But the fact that those emotions we're incredibly rapid for about a whole year and suddenly just slow down or stop. Is weird. Can I be considered suffering from BPD? I only have those emotion when an event happen. But it happens so rarely that it's not even a real thing anymore.but... I still can't ignore them. But... Since I'm not sure whether I have them I shouldn't go to the councilors right?(I say councilors since therapist and psychologist are for young adults or adults in my country) Another question, clearly I'm obsessed with my friend, is there any disorder for it? Or can it be classified as an disorder? The only informal term is "Yandere" but the idea is so vague

Schizophrenia, anxiety disorder, and depression are not personality disorders. Schizotypal personality disorder is a different entity than schizophrenia as schizophrenia is known to be a set of neurobiological processing errors particularly regarding the suprachiasmatic nucleus which creates a cascading effect on executive functions in the brain. Schizotypal personality disorder may look like schizophrenia and may sometimes be misdiagnosed as such, but the etiology and prognosis are different.

Hello!! I’m a teen and I’ve been having some trouble.... a lot of people have been telling me I have symptoms of some kind of personality disorder and I’m trying to find out which one fits my description best or if I even have a personality disorder.... I have a different personality for each person I know and I switch between them frequently. Sometimes, I might run out of energy for a certain personality and end up switching to a different one (that one that I switch to is usually sarcastic and annoyed). I don’t really know who I am as a person since I have so many different “versions” of my self.... it can be super hard sometimes and often will cause me to have depressive episodes and horrible anxiety. I have had at least 20 anxiety attacks in the past 3 months and they are horrible. Maybe I’m just stressed or overreacting though.... I am not taking any medication that could’ve caused any side effects of anxiety or depression or anything like that. It’s also hard for me to be around people for long periods of time as it tires me until I am mentally exhausted and it has negative effects on my state of mind (maybe I’m just really antisocial??? Hahah). But if anyone knows anything that can help me please reply to this....

I have Paranoia Personality disorder, Bi Polar 1 Disorder. ADHD , PTSD and BPD. All since I was a kid and knew I wasn't like the other kids. I hated myself loathed myself, still do. But I know one thing Borderline Personality Disorder is Very Real, and treatable. I got rid of mine for a while, it's also something you can indeed get rid of if you work REALLY HARD! THAT IN ITSELF IS A MAJOR UNDERTAKING & A LOT OF SOUL SEARCHING. I will get better I know, anyways I hope to get better again. I've stopped my risky behavior but I'm still very suseptable to it. I try really hard not to be a walking contradiction. It's frustrating to say the least. I was diagnosed by a notable psychiatrist and chemist. He helped me the most in my life. By explaining what was really wrong and why, and he made sense, it rang do true to me. And I'm not the type to be sold a bill of goods either. I got a second, third and 4th opinion on my diagnosis Not wanting them to be true. But they were and they are real. I was "conditioned" at a very early age and have seen murders and killings and was held captive for 6 years until I escaped one day I was 15 to 21 during those years I wished death upon myself daily then the human Spirit of survival kicked in and I said to myself one day I will escape death from him and die a free person in the other side of the bolted and heavily locked door. I mad my escape I got free. And now I deal with the crumbs of a life that was supposed to turn out a lot better or at least I'd hope! Thanks for reading...

they are only disorders if they affect your functioning or are distressing. Being alone is not a disorder unless its maladaptive.

As someone with comorbidities (two personality disorders coexisting; Dissociative Identity Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder) I can tell you that it's awful. You're often stigmatized to be crazy and you're always perceived in a negative perspective. If it's not one thing it's another. When I was younger, the alarming behavior I exhibited already caused people to disrespect and avoid me but after receiving the diagnoses and my at-the-time school violating HIPAA, outing that info to the staff who discussed it amongst themselves and students overheard, I was forced to transfer because it became overbearing. Me being the impulsive, semi-violent and emotionally troubled teen I was, lashed out and that resorted in hospitalizations. Many hospitalizations followed after because it's been discovered that I drank, self harm, and partook in other dangerous/detrimental activities. After a while it just taught me to never trust anyone, don't get close, and *NEVER* tell anyone anything. I'm 20+ now and even though I've given humanity multiple chances to show not every human is disgusting, I guess my hopes were too high. I don't mean to sound bitter but I'm tired of being reduced to an experiment and seen as a psycho for something out of my control. I'd rather suffer alone in silence than to be played as a fool.

Ok... so I have a Problem and I feel like i need help... This might sound silly but I have a huuuge puppy crush on a guy who is like four years older than me. He is super cute but I am aware that it’s just a puppy crush and I don’t actually love him or want to date him. I literally have no idea how to deal with it, I find myself staring at him way to often and when I talk to him I say stupid things. I want this to stop, but I don’t know how. He’s an awesome guy and I’m sure we could be good friends if this could just stop. I have the feeling that because of this I can’t actually start seeing someone, it would be weird to have a crush on somebody else when you’re in a relationship. It’s rlly sad cuz there are so many cute guys falling for me, and I wish I could date them. I’ve broken multiple hearts and it hurts every time and I hate doing it so much too. Please send help, I rlly don’t know how to deal with this anymore.

@@kaos1210 ASPD has 2 ways 1. Psychopathy (which is genetic) 2. Sociopathy Also I don't understand why people fake their disorders just to get attention. I hate attention and just to let you know, I (even though not fully) have multiple personalities and it's not good to make assumptions that people fake diagnose themselves. I already past that edgy age and I'm not a kid. So please stop acting like you know the people you're talking to online.
