This album is Peak, period The last riff in "In Fiction" blows me away every single time, very cathartic

Glad Brad listened to this. Panopticon is the peak of atmospheric sludge metal and the only other album that competes is the album they released the year prior, which was Oceanic. If Brad were going to explore more of Isis, he should listen to Oceanic because its as good as Panopticon. Rawer, more visceral and has a conceptual throughline centering on feminist themes. Both are 10s IMO. Sumac is also worth looking into. They're a different beast compared to Aaron Turner's more famous outing in Isis and it's heavier, faster, more technical and wilder, taking the post-metal sound to another plane of existence.
