I passed Jorma a J when he was at a stop light in 1970 in his HOTUNA plated flat head ford. Going to a winterland concert with papa john and Hot Tuna. Always a great event - Been watching him longer than most of you folks were alive.

I saw the Jefferson Airplane in 1969, along with BB King and The Who! It was the first ever Rock concert at Tanglewood.

Now THAT is a great triple bill if I've ever heard of one! Must've been amazing! Tanglewood must've been quite the venue to see all the bands at. The Santana concert footage from there is superb! Jorma is such a good guitarist--loved him in the Airplane and Hot Tuna as well.

Fun watch. Funny to think, I was like four years old when Dad used to take us to Knowland park (I'm pretty sure), where Airplane or The Dead would be playing while we picnicked and played in the park.

I had the pleasure with hanging out with Jorma and Rick Danko at a place called Hunt's in Burlington VT. It was pretty cool for me to see those guys at that time...

Jorma did amazing leads on so many Airplane songs - Good Shepherd, Greasy Heart, Other Side of This Life (live), If You Feel, Aerie (Gang of Eagles), Spare Change, Young Girl Sunday Blues and the list goes on. underrated if you ask me.

Loved Jorma since 1974. NY area. Hot F^%$^king Tuna. Saw Tuna summer 2022 in Missoula Montana. They were incredible and that dude can still sing.

OMG I'm so glad this popped up in my feed. I too am from Ohio and when you mentioned Hurl... I immediately freaked out since I had been thinking of him a few days back, since I used to go to The Record Connection and anyone who knows him knows that LEGENDARY store on Hamilton Road. Even had my BMX bike stolen from there. Oh that sucked, but this is SO GREAT. So glad KZbin brought me to you. Would love to get together sometime to chat about music art and life with ya.
