MashaAllah brothers! As a medical doctor I know that there are certain psychiatric illnesses that could be wonderfully explained by the presence of jinn. For example, dissociative identity disorder is a condition where the behaviour of an individual changes from one type to maybe a completely opposite type! e.g. A 25 year old shy and conservative woman suddenly acting like a 50 year old man who is using all sorts of slangs & abusive languages and even smoking like 20 cigarettes in one go!

Salam - Dissociative Identity Disorder (Previously referred to as Multiple personality disorder) is a controversial construct that most psychiatrists neither subscribe to nor entertain. In people who present with ‘differing’ personalities, there is often a component of childhood trauma (physical, emotional, sexual or neglect) and the assumption of a ‘new’ persona is usually an unconscious defence mechanism to cope with the chronic distress / emotional pain. This type of psychological defence is often employed by people with traits of borderline personality and / or factitious disorder especially those with a forensic background. Hope this is helpful. Microdosing psychedelic shrooms cured a lot of my anxiety and generally made life and my own view of myself a lot more vibrant and healthy. I did it for 2-3 months then took a break, definitely would recommend it to someone who wants to enhance their mental understanding and flow state!

If we are putting forward that it's jinn and there is a benefit. Then I would say this, Haaroot and Maaroot may have taught the people this. How to use the different plants to access these. It actually re-inforces the last point of the guy who was lead to Islam. He didn't expect help from these things (shirk) so, instead he received Islam instead. I'M NOT SAYING USE DMT TO COME TO ISLAM. You don't need all that. The cons outweigh the pros. The con is potentially losing eternal bliss. Any pro isn't even worth mentioning now. Coming into the fold of Islam is too easy. Just believe that Allāh is one and He sent all the prophets including Jesus and Muhammad who is the last and final messanger, may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon them. That is it.

There are many people on KZbin and forums you can find who had an extremely bad trips on psychedelics and some even go from atheist spiritualists to believing in "Satan" because of how bad their trip is! So no not everyone has a positive change. Some people even develop disassociative personality disorders like derealisation after psychedelic trips.

Interesting. I have to dissent to a few things. Is it not superstitious to attribute everything mysterious to the supernatural? Just because something is mysterious or unexplained that doesn't mean it's connected to Jinn, of course that doesn't mean it's not unconnected either but there could be other possibilities. Are there any placebos involved? Could it just be something that's always inside of us? Or perhaps many other possibilities? There's something called Holotropic Breathwork, which is a breathing exercise that causes hallucinations without using psychedelic drugs. Do you think that's also connected to the Jinn? Also, what do you make of Jaguars that eat the psychedelic Yage plant?

Now, I think Allah in English is better translated as Whole, or Everything than God (because God is some white dude on a cloud passing judgement, and afaik, Muslims see God in Everything much more than Christians according to Life of Pi).
