Thank you for posting so much enjoy the topic. Seems as though the public can't get enough of Freud's discovery either. Hence, the film currently showing in theaters- 'Freud's Last Session'.

Yes, the terms are used interchangeable. Psychodynamics is the heart of any depth psychology regardless of the school of thought because psychodynamics deals with psychic conflict, and the mind's structure. A chart placing Klein, Adler, Jung et.al. in the lane as doing psychodynamic psychotherapy and NOT psychoanalysis seems misleading and barely adds up. Yes, the field has evolved from a one-person to two-person approach, and sex de-emphasized but it's still psychoanalysis. Contemporary Freudians, Kleinians, relationalists, self-psychology, intersubjectivists, practice without the couch and coming 5xs a week - post-Covid. However, they have not thrown out the baby with the bath water. Thanks for posting. Enjoyed!

Well said! I appreciate your feedback but the content was created for the students that answered the questions incorrectly on the sample clinical license exam. The number one question that was answered incorrectly is who is the father of modern psychology? On the licensure exam, the answer is Wilhelm Wundt but overwhelmingly, the students say Freud. The second question answered incorrectly on the sample test, is “what theorist is associated with the psychodynamic movement?” The answer is Jung but they overwhelmingly answer Freud. It’s a little confusing because Jung and Freud are both one of the multiple choice answers. In practice, they are more similar than different, sometimes questions on the exams are designed to see if the students could pick out the slightest differences between the two. You are correct that they didn’t throw the baby out with the bath water, but if there is not a clear delineation between the two, students get it wrong. I’m not sure how often the exam is updated but they were getting these questions wrong on the sample test, the quizzes and the real exam before Covid so maybe the teaching materials will be updated to reflect the way that things have evolved and changed over the years. I will look into it. Thx
