Boomer love? Being in my late 50's, I'm having trouble recalling much other than the mainstreaming of promiscuity and the first epidemic levels of divorce among boomers.

@Leslie Interesting. It seems once we (collectively) reached a level of convenience and comfort, it all went to sh!t. It’s almost as if we need a certain level of adversity to thrive 🤷🏻♂️

@@noahbrown4388 this guy gets it. Sacrifice. Compromise. Working at it for the good of the unit. I call it boomer love because it was the final iteration where some semblance of that was understood…that is before the birth control pill and sexual revolution, which led to what OP describes

This is why I call marriage Russian roulette with 4 rounds. 3 rounds represent the 50% chance of divorce. Round #4 represents staying in a crap marriage for other reasons, wishing you were unmarried the whole time.

I also think it's an American thing too. I have a female friend from Iran who moved to the US as a teenager. She is disgusted by American women's lack of proper hygiene. She said UTI's were unheard of in her country, no one uses a bidet here, and the American diet also plays a role.

19:00 It is not about rejection... I am a former model and I take care of my body very well.. No only that, I can get along with people nicely on a regular basis.. The thing is, after the "red pill" (if you want to call it that), what I thought about what a relationship would be (especially when it comes to female love) is not true.. So I am looking elsewhere for fulfillment... Think about it this way - there are always things in life you want to do that you don't have the resources for (time, money energy.. when you get past a certain age, it is mostly time), so you could say that I am "choosing my battles"

Great vid! The community had many interesting responses and the commentary was exquisite. As an audio-only nibba it's sometimes hard to differentiate, but I'll manage. It's very cool that you're so thorough with everyone's input. I think the term "boomer love" is mildly funny. The boomer circumstances were so good compared to now, yet the average boomlationship is something I want nothing to do with. In essence it's watching TV, keeping up with the Joneses, and the man not being able to give his daughter good advice without it being seen as an attack on the wife's dubious past. The father is supposed to be the one man in a girl's life who has no reason to lie to her, but even that's been flipped on its head. Hence why I'd want a little sister to look out for. There's so much potential to see a girl flourish if she just gets the facts delivered. With a little brother, unless he's won the genetic lottery, there's not much else you can do than say "welcome to hell". Alright, I would kill to have had proper male guidance myself. Things could have been quite different then, maybe. But it's not like with a girl where all you have to do is make sure she cashes in her frickin' lottery ticket.

You are misunderstanding my last sentence. My selfishness and self serving behavior is not because that is how I view my behavior should be in the relationship. The behavior is directed at the society as the result of relationship denial. My parents wont be around forever, society cares not for the autistic, white or male and without someone to deepened upon when things get hard I have no choice but to be a self serving human without remorse, shame or care.

Pete, you use that MSDOS analogy often, but it kind of throws me off because DOS hasn't been the kernel for Windows since 1993 (it's Windows NT now). Maybe I'm misunderstanding the analogy, or maybe I'm reading too much into it. Colttaine has a great video titled "Biology Culture Ideology" where he claims that our innate biology is like a computer's hardware, various cultures are like the OS or kernel for the OS, and ideologies (like Feminism) are pieces of software compiled for that operating system. Is this what you mean when you reference MSDOS? I just wanted to be sure.

@@shleepz I see. Well the longer you operate on this space the easier it is to identify real world application if not just what TFM talks about, but Colttaine, Spetznaz, Barbar, Stardusk, etc. Many of those guys have the better part of a decade behind them talking about this stuff but when you dive into it yourself, the patterns are there and it becomes nigh impossible to forget them. So it’s like an instinct to just know where the pieces fit after a while. Second nature and all that

Fun, fun! Thanks for reading my comment. I find it really interesting that we humans seem to be primarily story-driven and meaning-finding animals. Logic and math and science doesn't cut it for us. We chose our food and pick our clothes for the day not because they're most nutritious or best fit clothes for the weather but because the big mac for breakfast or the gray hoodie on a summer day mean something to us. We seem to be always trying to come up with a narrative and a story to make sense of our lives. And when those stories fail, we're hit with a mid-life crises. One of the challenges of today is not only don't we have access to the stories of our ancestors but modern culture is constantly re-inventing itself with new fads and social issues, forcing us to re-evaluate what little sense we have made of our lives. And on top of that, the only stories we do have to make sense of our lives like Boomer-love are failing everywhere.
