Rabbi, since I'm a gentile, is it allowed that I practice first to try and keep as many mitzvot with shabbot as possible BEFORE I try to convert? I ask because I wasn't BORN as a jew and wasn't raised with the traditions. Didn't want to convert and then plunge myself into judgment of a million sins, when I can try and create good habits for myself first, that way I can have a good solid conversion and continue the good mitzvots I'm keep with good habits?

A person who wants to convert can keep all the mitzvot they can excluding ones performed by Jews such as tefillin for example. You can keep shabbat but not fully. You must do one thing to break it like turning on the light. Are you considering to convert?

@@virtualtourist6492 yes, I've been watching these lectures pretty much everyday all day for about 2 years now. I saw ONE from another rabbi, and it hooked me. Then another and another. He stopped uploading so I found Rabbi Alon Anava and then Rabbi Mitzrachi. But I've been watching Mitzrachi a LOT more honestly. Even as a kid, churches never sat right with me and never knew why, but Judaism pulled my attention like a magnet. Suprised me really. But I was curious about this since I wasn't raised as a Jewish person, that maybe I could do a few practice runs to get the good habits going before I try to convert. The curiosity alone has me clicking every video trying to learn.

@@daviedood2503 Buy the book on lovejews.com it tells what is expected to convert with a sponsoring Rabbi. It will give you a good resource then go to rabbis.com. This all that is expected and lists of kosher Rabbis.

Rabbi My marriage to my Jewish wife did not work out i do have two wonderful Jewish sons from that marriage however. But now I am in my 60s i am more religious although have a ways to go. My problem is I now have a Goya girlfriend i will not marry here but will hopefully spend my years with her. Is this a problem?
