As a therapist, Colleen I am begging you to deal with that past trauma. Yes, it will suck in the moment and be very painful. BUT, there is so much research about physical pain and ailments as a result of unresolved trauma.

@safalafagins4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm a bit unsettled by Terri saying talking about it doesn't help. It very much needs to be talked about and fully processed - especially if Colleen says she doesn't talk about it with anyone. A therapist is a safe place to do so. Then, after it's processed, there can be tools used to move forward.
@reeseakel21634 жыл бұрын
Hypnotherapy can also work great. Once you are comfortable with the hypnotherapist you just open up(speaking from experience). This way, you aren’t trying to hold things in because you know it will help to let them out. If you aren’t sure what exactly hypnotherapy is, it is a type of therapy that works deeper in you subconscious to get over habits or deal with anxiety or trauma(there are other things too). Once you are “willing” to go under/hypnotized you just have to let it out. I agree with everyone else in the comments: if she doesn’t want to tell us, that is 100% ok.
@alexy.41494 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Terri seems like a very nice person but as far as I'm aware she's not a mental health professional, so I feel she should be careful about the advice she gives out on how to deal with trauma. Yes, tools and active action are important for dealing with personal issues, but so is talking. I had cognitive behaviorial therapy last year and if I hadn't spent months talking through things with my therapist, I would not have made some very important realizations about myself or made the progress I did. I do know that finding the right therapist is a very personal thing, however, and Colleen mentioned she's now looking for a new therapist. I hope she finds one that works for her.

I don't know if you read comments, but for the "victim" aspect of your reading, where you reflect on how things have been coming up for you lately that weren't generally on your mind: I personally have found that the more things I work on (in therapy, for instance), the deeper the things are that come up. It's almost as if I was unable to handle dealing with deep trauma, until other things were first sorted in my mind. It could be your body's way of telling you that you are strong enough to work on that deep trauma. Love you. Be gentle with yourself following this reading/revelation. You deserve to take time to care for yourself. Fyi, Thank you for your vlogs; they have helped me through the most difficult year of my life. You really don't know how much your work/video's help and affect your viewers. Thank you.

i can tell just by who you are, how you react and how your sense of humor plays out that we’ve had similar life experiences. I just turned 34 and after 2 years in therapy I recently found the strength to be honest with both myself and my therapist. It’s not something I talk about because I don’t want to feel those feelings all over again. I’ve been running from it for far too long. Forcing myself to finally deal with it has taken me to some very dark places, but as I slowly come out of those places I’m finding genuine joy and appreciation. At the end of the day you really only have, well, you. And if you were strong enough to survive it - you’re strong enough to face it. I promise, it’s worth it. Know that you did the best you could and you didn’t deserve it.

Hey, Colleen! You sound a lot like me when it comes to therapy. I had a therapist that I loved, but it wasn’t doing a lot for me. Just last year, I started seeing a different therapist who does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Basically, based on what’s going on or what you’re talking about, they come up with tools/solutions/a plan to help you with that aspect of my life. The therapist would go through it step by step, and I love it. For example, I was having trouble remembering to take my meds, and we went through my entire morning routine to figure out when the best time to take them would be and how to solidify that- no matter how unconventional that method may be. It’s never rocket science or complex- usually just things I would never think of on my on. Since you like having those tools that you can apply to your own life, finding someone who does CBT may be helpful.

Hi Colleen. I just wanted to take a moment and give you a virtual hug. I’ve been victimized too...more than once. When I was very young I was the victim of childhood sexual abuse, and was traumatized to the degree that I had amnesia surrounding most of my childhood. Later in life I was in an abusive relationship, and developed PTSD. Having PTSD made things incredibly difficult to talk about, so I buried it deep and kept moving forward. Eventually, as other stressors came in I began having flashbacks of my childhood, and because the flashbacks were startling I found a therapist who specializes in trauma. She helped me so much, and one of the things she helped me come to terms with was that none of what happened to me was my fault, and the shame I felt belonged to them, not me. There is no shame in being victimized, and no reason to be embarrassed. I am not sharing my story with you in order to coax you into sharing your trauma with the internet. I’m sharing it to let you know that you’re not alone, and no one thinks less of you because you suffered trauma at the hands of someone who was so broken they wanted to break others. You’re beautiful, you’re worthy, and you’re loved. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Colleen has worked and she is so authentic and she deserves the wonderful life she has because she has created it from the ground up. Watching her beat herself up because she thinks her problems are insignificant compared to everything else in the world is heartbreaking! We all have our own challenges and struggles! No matter what life has a funny way of throwing a spanner in the works... But we're all entitled to our own journey and struggle. No guilt, no shame.

Colleen! Things I've learned from my therapist this year: first, living through the pandemic is a trauma so it is bringing up other traumas, second - our brains are bringing up specific memories and traumas because it knows we are ready to deal with it. I know how you feel. Something happen in my past that rips my heart out everytime I think about it. I wish I could have faced the person who caused it ,but he died before I could. So sweetheart I wish I could get you the biggest hug in the world. You have a great family that will help you always. Be safe my friend, stay sweet. One day you will be able to tell your sadness. God bless you so so very much.

I really hope that you talk about whatever it is to a therapist. I've thought for a long time Colleen that you were holding in trauma. All your anxiety symptoms scream out "past trauma". You won't heal by not confronting it.

I cannot express how much love and care I'm feeling for you. I have so much respect for you, we don't deserve to be a viewer to any part of your life but I certainly am so grateful when you do choose to be vulnerable, and I completely respect keeping the deepest things for you. I know you'll find healing and I'm so happy for that moment to come ❤

I had a psychic read my palm at the fair when I was newly pregnant with my daughter. While hubby waited I asked her if I was going to have children. She said yes, but not yet - and not with him - as she pointed at my husband! Haha January will be our 20th wedding anniversary and our baby daughter is 19 🙃

Yeah don’t trust fair “psychics” they are so untrustworthy. If you’re going to get read, do a tarot with a highly rated professional

you don’t ever have to tell something if it’s too personal. hopefully, one day you’ll feel comfortable enough to let go of all the pain and terror by releasing all these demons. i love you so much colleen, and to hear all of these things are breaking my heart because i NEVER want to see you in pain. whoever hurt you, may they burn in hell. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Honestly tarot is such a beautiful tool to sharpen and become aware of the fact that we all have such a strong inner voice , which will never lead us wrong . it’s life changing when you’re able to separate and observe the “ego” voice from the intuitive inner knowledge that will speak to us if we listen. So glad she’s showing tarot in a video .

Maybe this new spiritual awakening will help your anxiety, Colleen! Learning more about intuition and the power of the universe can help ground you when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Every emotion you feel, even the uncomfortable, is guidance from the universe for your healing. Great video, she is amazing Much love! ❤️

It sounds like she's saying your next chapter is opening a theater school/ camp for kids like you've always wanted. I'm totally reading into it though.

Hey, Colleen. Based on my experiences and confirmations in the past hour since watching this, I have to say to you that Terrie is LEGIT. She is the real deal. Thank you for sharing this 💛

It sounds like Terrie was the perfect therapist for you at that moment, just through a discussion about your life. Coupled with the fact that her energy is so relaxing!

I don't know if you, colleen, personally actually read the comments but... I am a therapist, not in your area so I couldn't be your therapist, but if you need some resources or other coping type support I would be happy to help out with some information while you are finding a permanent therapist. Just thought I'd offer

She said it was 2 hours of footage because she had multiple cameras so when she put all that footage together, it added up to 2 hours. She also edited the video which cut down on the time

When she said to tap the heart... I started balling my eyes out! I decided to try it and listened to what she was saying while I did it and I cried... I felt good and safe. I've had a rough past and this is amazing! I struggle with anxiety and depression and have since the time I was about 8! I respect you so much colleen! Sometimes watching your videos like this I learn a lot. Thanks for sharing this with us!

I thought the tapping the heart info was very interesting. Every panic attack I've had my right hand instantly flys to my heart and stays glued there until its over.
