The Kanye reference: when Taylor swift won her first Grammy Kanye rushed the stage at the beginning of her acceptance speech and said, "I'm gonna let you finish in a minute but Beyonce had the best album of the year...etc." So Em said where is Kanye when you need him and then quoted him by saying to the competition "I'm gonna let you finish in a minute but...". Like Em had something to say that was way more impactful.

Good afternoon Tom, This is one of my all time favorites with Em! He did another collaboration with Lil Wayne called, "Drop the World" that is another all time fave too. The Kanye reference is talking about when Kanye grabbed the mic from someone at the '06 MTV Europe awards and again at the '09 Grammys, when he took the mic from Taylor Swift. "Where is Kanye when you need him, snatch the mic from 'em, b!**# I'ma let you finish in a minute, ya the rap is tight but I'ma tryna scribble out the greatest rap of all time... This is one of the best executed and iconic verses Eminem has ever put to paper, in my opinion. Iconic. There's so many doubles and triples in this one too. "Semi-cartermatic"; Carter is Lil Wayne's last name and it sounds like "Semi-automatic." Marsh is not Mellow (Marshal Mathers/Marshmallow). And so many more.
@ReactionTherapyOfficial2 жыл бұрын
So cool!!😊

He has mastered the art of Being an MC so if you can take a look every time he pauses he inhales and exhales so that’s how he’s able to keep going so long without losing breath and sound the same live on tv he is just in an other level they say he is on his own lane no he is passed that he is in his own interstate freeway
@evilervcowart62342 жыл бұрын
I'm mostly a metal guy (drummer), and a lot of lyrics I write utilize that same technique. Sometimes it's not only word placement that's important but pause placement as well. A few other echniques that (my) death metal lyrics have in common with hip hop are syllable counting, double rhyming, and also using cadence/tone/inflection to make words appear to rhyme when they actually do not. This style of songwriting can be an absolute nightmare for vocalists who prefer a looser, more flexible approach to singing lyrics; they tend to not appreciate "Yeah...you have to pause and inhale immediately after the first syllable of this word, or else you won't have the breath to make it through the section to the exhale" lol

When Wayne say they are skipping scenes....its these younger guys coming up trying to make a quick buck and running! No respect for the OG's or anyone else really! I went through that stuff with my son in grade school. I went through all the different moves to protect himself. But he's such a quiet... sweet soul...it took these same boys going after his best friend before my son would strike back!. The principle tried to suspend my son for standing up against these boys! I was livid...they never punished these other boys after all the bullying they had done! Because their mothers were on the PTA...bunch of political crap! I praised my son & his friend for standing up against these other boys! I took them out for ice cream!! I'm a firm believer in home schooling now! Sorry...bullying gets my ire up!

Aaaah, this is so much in your line! I love this song. While I really love Eminem and he's SO GOOD with the chorus and also his verse, obvsl, I truly enjoy Wayne's verse a bit more. His understated, slow, patient delivery, the few words he uses to make such a great, complete picture of the room with broken glass and open nightstands with unread bibles (which is not a real room, duh!) ... just *chef's kiss* this is a masterpiece and great example of two great rappers collaborating and creating something close to perfection. Do they compete in the song? Sure - they're rappers, after all! But they make it a great piece of art on the way, and I wish we had more like this. (Yes, Drop the World is also a good song and I love it, but it doesn't carry the same impact as "No Love" does for me)

The “you kicked me when I was down” is rumored to be aimed at Lil Wayne. Wayne said something a long the lines of “Eminem can’t touch me” in an interview at the same time Eminem was battling through his drug addiction. So some speculate that Eminem was aiming that at him. Which would be really ballsy if he did that to the same guy he had on his own song

You should make a video about Rammstein "Mutter" (mother) and their other song "Engel" (angel), they have german lyrics, i categorize them as quite cathartic songs, and Queen isnt quite known by younger generation , esp Bohemian Rhapsody is a song that has timeless lyrics which teenagers and young adults fast click and can relate. Queen has other amazing songs that were unique and meaningfull like "Dont stop me know" (very uplifting), "I want to break free" or "Who wants to live forever", timeless subjects that every generation deals with. A unique song is called "in the year 2525" (published in 1969) by Zager and Evans which is quite interesting and gives content to reflect human behavior throughout time. A classic is Supertramp with their song "The logical song" (1979) still relatable, probably younger generation dont know this song anymore. Also you should do a movie reaction about "Harold and Maude" (1971), again still relatable for young generations. If you dont know this movie, dont get demotivated by the intro scene, the movie uses music by then famous singer Cat Stevens. have a great day!
