You should do "The Drug in Me is You" and "The Drug in Me is Reimagined" by them. 2 songs with the same lyrics but completely different styles. I'm sure you'll find the juxtaposition the style change makes on the lyrics very entertaining

I haven't seen a comment explaining the grown up daughter in 2033 scene. Ronnie did go to prison and his original sentence was supposed to last until 2033. Him waking up in 2033 in this video is him expressing how if he didn't get early release he would have missed his daughter's entire childhood. Also, dark hair Ronnie is Ronnie from losing my mind. That is the version of Ronnie that didn't want to change. He flew through life riding addiction and living his worst life. Blonde hair Ronnie is the better half that wants to escape the past and push into the future as a better person. Blonde hair Ronnie buries dark hair Ronnie in the end with the date 2033 on the headstone, again referencing the life that dark hair Ronnie should have had in prison. Dark hair Ronnie pops out of the ground with a devious smile. Ronnie is saying that the mistakes of his past are a part of him. He can try to kill them and bury them but they will always be a part of who he is and he has to fight to keep that part of him under control.

Sadly the guitarist in this song, very eerily wearing the vest that says "DEATH" and his only true musician friend that stuck with him when he was in prison, died last year. I'm not sure how, I haven't heard, nor was I looking to find out. It just broke my heart for Ronnie, everything he's overcome, mom walking out in him, loses his brother, gets locked up, and finally sees some major success and is able to start putting some of his demons behind him and bam, life punches him right in the balls!!
@nobodyimportant13372 жыл бұрын
Last comment, I promise😂 He has some lyrics from a song called Keep Holding On that I think perfectly encapsulates Ronnie Radke. “I thought I had myself all figured out But I've spent my whole life holding myself down And it seems to be that sort of thing I keep doing constantly Addicted to the pain I cause myself My head is floating somewhere in the clouds While I'm paid to entertain a lively crowd They sing my songs and feel my pain cause pain is what creates my fame A vicious cycle someday I'll get out” If that doesn’t explain him and his music, I don’t know what does🤷🏻♀️

I don't know if it's the official story, however, I just think of the scene where he wakes up and his daughter is already grown up as something that people with addictions or other situations sometimes might face, where they are so messed up themselves that life just runs past them and when they finally get themselves in order, so much time has passed and he just missed his daughters childhood and teenage years, which is really sad. Also the "I just kill myself sometimes" line is really impactful and hurts to listen to. Overall I just love this song.

I❤ur reaction 2 this, Ronnie is the goat! Yeah that's him battling with himself. The blonde Ronnie is the addict side of him that tries 2 sabotage everything while dark haired Ronnie is the sober side of him that's trying 2 b a better person. When he wakes up 2 Willow being grown up, he realizes that he's missed out on her growing up when he was an addict. The yr 2033 as Ronnie explained it, he had a dream that he was gonna die in 2033. He likes 2 hide Easter eggs within his videos so the yr will pop up in 1 of his newer videos.

I think the meaning behind this song, or at least what I interpret is, reminds me of what I heard a therapist say one time. We are forever evolving and moving forward and that our old selves are always dying and we should not try to resurrect our old selves but to embrace the new us we become each day. The whole line of "please don't mind me, I just kill myself sometimes" to me means that he's constantly changing and more of a plea to loved ones and friends of "please just accept me as I am becoming" as I am not the person I used to be and never will be again.

Great reaction. I hope you might appreciate to read, what Ronnie said about the song in an online magazine (I had to split up the link, so YT won't delete the whole comment): „‚LOSING MY LIFE‘ IS THE CONTINUATION OF WHERE ‚LOSING MY MIND‘ ENDED. IT’S THE DICHOTOMIES AND IRONIC PARALLELS BETWEEN SELF-REFLECTION AND THE SELF-DESTRUCTIVE NATURE THAT WE AS HUMANS FACE ON A DAILY BASIS IN MODERN TIMES. WHETHER IT BE CONSTANT JUDGMENTS FROM OUR PEERS, NOT BEING GOOD ENOUGH, TO NOT KNOWING WHO TO TRUST, I’VE COME TO THE REALIZATION THAT WE ARE ALL THE SAME AT OUR CORE. YET, IRONICALLY, WE PROJECT OUR FEARS IN THE FORM OF HATE ONTO EACH OTHER. BOUNCING BETWEEN DIMENSIONS, AS THE VIDEO PORTRAYS, THERE ARE TWO OF ME THAT ARE POLAR OPPOSITES OF EACH OTHER: ONE TRYING TO PROVE TO THE WORLD HE IS GOOD ENOUGH, AND THE OTHER TRYING TO STOP HIM FROM IT. HE ULTIMATELY KILLS HIS ‚REFLECTION‘ - THE MIRRORED ENTITY NEGATING HIS PROGRESS BY INTER-DIMENSIONAL TIME TRAVEL- ONLY TO FIND THAT THE OTHER VERSION OF ‚HIM‘ HE KILLS COMES BACK TO LIFE, REGENERATING THE FEELINGS AGAIN. IT’S MY ANALOGY OF THE CYCLICAL BATTLE WE ALL FACE ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS. HOWEVER, THIS UNDERLYING MESSAGE CAN BE TRANSLATED IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. IT’S ALL IN THE EYES AND EARS OF THE BEHOLDER.“ cybmag.de/falling-in- reverse-mit-neuem-song-losing-my-life/ Please check out I Don't Mind by Falling in Reverse. Maybe you'd like to check out a solo track by Ronnie, too? Destiny is a good track to learn more about him. Greetings from Germany

I don't know if it's the kind of song you usually react on though, but if not, I definitely recommend watching on your free time. Some background infos : "'I'm Not a Vampire (Revamped)' was over 10 years in the making," says Ronnie Radke. "I wrote the original song, while sitting inside a maximum security prison, about drug addiction. I always believed songs such as this one had more to offer than its original form, so I wanted to give fans a new perspective and redefine who I am when it comes to expressing myself and being creative." The original appears on the band's 2011-released album The Drug in Me Is You.

Recently I heard in one of the other reactions that FiR reminds of Linkin Park. And suddnly I realizes that I'm agree with that but not the "usual" way. They kinda similar in music way by combining rap and metal (but in general we've seen that in 90s and 00s). But what's most important both LP and FiR lyrics look like ctying for help. Exposing the damaged soul. Ronnie's way is surely different than Chester's but I believe if you feel one, you understand another.
