This song really made clear how addiction influenced his life, a big misunderstanding is that people think juice supported drug abuse, while the whole point of this song was to warn people about the dangers of addiction

when he says “Lean with me, pop with me, get high with me if you rock with me, smoke with me, drink with me, fucked up liver with some bad kidneys” he’s basically saying hey if you really mess with me and you’re on my team take all these drugs with me but just know the consequences which is a “fucked up liver with some bad Kidneys” I don’t think he’s condoning the use of drugs or telling ppl to take drugs with him, I believe he’s giving you a warning like hey if you take all these drugs this will be the consequence. Ppl get this song messed up and think he’s praising drugs and telling ppl to take drugs to show that they rock with him.

"Lean with me" is a reference to the drug called promethazine with codeine, Juice and many other rap artists would mix this with sprite or other sodas and drink it to form a very addictive combination known as lean/purple drank. He's basically insinuating to pour up lean with him. "Pop with me" just references the act of popping pills or popping mdma, again he's telling the listener to "pop with me" if they rock with him and his music.

Im sure you already know by now, but i would let it play out til the last second in the future at least if its a music video. Some videos have last words or hidden messages, and this video had a message at the end. That little thing made the song be against drugs and getting help, when the lyrics were clearly all for it, doing drugs, living that party lifestyle, party wit him, drug abuse. It was like a hint in an interesting weird way. Yet again, awesome reaction, thanks for covering this.

Juice has a severe drug addiction. he would be popping up to 20 pills at a time, and that’s how he ultimately died, a seizure induced by drugs. that’s why a lot of his lyrics were drug based because he couldn’t stop, he wanted to, but the people he loved all did drugs

he did not want to stop whatsoever. his friends tried to get him in rehab and he would never go and never even tried to begin to quit using.

@@licknooney2053 he wanted to stop. He knew he needed to, but he couldn't. Like he said in his song Wishing well "if it wasn't for the pills i wouldn't be here, but if i keep taking these pills i won't be here"

@@licknooney2053 deep down he wanted to stop, but if you’ve ever been an addict that’s easier said than done. And with everyone around him being addicts as well, it just wasn’t going to happen

@@licknooney2053 this was a kid who was diagnosed with ADHD in 3rd or 5th grade because he had too much energy and was given pills to slow him down then was introduced to opioids because of it and was able to make words come together even more when high. After Lucid Dreams went viral he began to take more and more to keep up with the lifestyle and got to a point where he couldn’t stop himself but knew it would kill him. Addicts can’t just stop and go to rehab so easily. Eminem said it best when he said that pills don’t make you feel fucked up like crack and heroin and are so easy to take, then would give rid of any friend that said he should stop. He was lucky and made it to a hospital before he OD’d. That was his rock bottom. I believe if Juice had survived his OD, he would have quit but the cops were more concerned with arresting him than calling an ambulance.

As much as I love these juice songs, you need to hear the happy ones, like “Hear me calling” or even the hype ones like “Out my Way”

Thanks Doc, easily my favorite Juice song, it’s sad because every single song of his sounds like a cry for help but nobody listened. I recommend watching the music videos more often as possible as it encapsulates the entire message of the song and adds great visuals. Thanks again doc your the best

Lean with me, refers to the drink “lean” which is made with codeine cough syrup. It got its name from texas rappers leaning while using it. “Pop with me” means popping pills, as in taking them.

I love how the lyrics go “F’d up liver with some bad kidneys” because he states that he’s aware of the consequences that come with his actions. Man, I’m still such a big fan. He was so raw and open with everything that he was dealing with. It’s hard to listen to but so comforting at the same time.

Where were you when I needed therapy for what I didn't know then was postpartum meets undiagnosed autism all at a time when I was needing help to walk away from a physically abusive relationship at 19? I literally could not talk to the therapist to explain how anything was feeling. The only way I knew how to express myself was to write down song lyrics from songs I related to throughout the week between appointments that expressed in words, the way I couldn't, how I felt. The therapist I got wouldn't accept that and would not read them and kept wanting to insist that I look at her and talk with her right from the beginning. I stopped seeing her when she kept telling me to my face that I was fine but then was calling my older sister behind my back trying to pressure her into committing me. Have not trusted a therapist since. Could have really used one that got the power of song lyrics. Could have made a world of difference in my life path these last 20 or so years.

Wow! I love these comments, thanks so much for sharing. I think music and lyrics can help us express what we feel even better than words sometimes. I bring them into session all the time. I just think it’s cool that you were able to write lyrics about how you feel and there’s nothing better to express the deepest parts of ourselves then to write it down. Thanks so much for watching and letting me know😊👍
