they're so dynamic and Scrim (the one with the dreads) produces all of their beats (or at least 99% of them) coming from a fellow producer he is a GENIUS. SO happy to see you vibing to them, really taking notice and contemplating how heavy their lyrics are, while also VIBING to their musical genius. I can personally say they have saved me. Hey, reaction therapy! I love your content so much. I am glad you are helping Suicideboys rise to further popularity. This is my favorite SB song. I wanted to point out a lyric in this song that you missed in your reaction: In the first verse, when ruby is speaking about fluorescent lights, he is speaking about UV lights used in inner cities to prevent drug addicts from injecting drugs such as heroin and fentanyl. When he mentions that these lights are making him violent, it is not that these lights hurt his eyes, it is that he is mad that the government is preventing him from finding an escape from his pain-- thus, he gets violent.
@ReactionTherapyOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Well said😊
@daydrms Жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. I interpreted the fluorescent lights verse as being inside of stagnant buildings all the time, or seeing the TV screen or PC monitor etc. We all go so stir crazy when we are boxed up inside day after night.. But this brings that whole line to a deeper level coming from an addict's perspective. Thank u for this comment

I've been talking to my therapist about how their music helps me. How I find they say exactly what I can't. I feel like I've healed and grown with them. I am so proud of them both. I cried when I listened to "Escape from Babylon" because hearing $crim talk about how he's found a better life, a better girl, and how he wants a family just made me so happy. Hearing Ruby address his own issues and how he's learning to get through them and grow himself is also just so, amazing. I just love how open and raw they are about depression, anxiety, addiction, etc. They're not afraid to throw these "ugly" topics into the spotlight. They don't hold back. It's really helped me realize I'm not alone, these thoughts I have are not just my own, it's things a million other people have. Since I've discovered them, my life has really made a 180 and I'm in a position that 16yo me never thought would happen. I just want to keep watching them grow now. They deserve all the happiness life can bring.

7:25 when ruby says “stare into the violet fluorescent lights makes me violent I’m trying to get the highest I can get before I overdose and die” he’s referring to how a lot of bars, specifically in New Orleans where they’re from, have black lights in the bathrooms so addicts cant see their veins to shoot up in them. Thus making him angry and frustrated that he can’t get high, he is saying that he’s trying to get as high as he possibly can without dying

I love that as a therapist you hear the stuff and are like "aw no! That's not good y'all!" But the beat is so good you can't help but bump to it. About that song, i dont think i was gonna do it but smtimes you just have dark thoughts all the time and $B helped me so much, i found in this song the most beautiful and well written way to express this feeling and never found any better.. I just saw the boys in concert and I want to let you know that before they played their last song they stopped the crowd and told everyone that if they need help to seek it out, and they spent a good 10 minutes talking about how they know how it feels to be broken. It makes me think that they saw this video because they didn't do that the previous year at least as long and as sentimentally as they did this year. I'm happy to see that your videos are reaching as far as they are 😊

“Stare into the violet fluorescent lights, makes me violent” - violet/uv lights are common in a lot of places to prevent people from injecting themselves because it makes veins invisible on the arms.

like everyone i love your reactions to the boys. also on the fluorescent lights line i think that also has some meaning with some club etc. bathrooms having fluorescent lights so it’s harder for people to shoot up in them. i think the lights make it hard to see your veins

Don't jump to conclusions reading this. These videos about SuicideBoys specifically (they have a special place in my heart) are almost hilariously long. What I mean is that if I asked somebody I knew to analyze a song and then showed them Kill Yourself III, they would probably give me what, like 30 seconds to a minute of analysis maybe? But our boy gives us many minutes analyzing almost every line in the song and reinforcing the idea that although the Boys have pretty amazing intensity and emotionally lyrical verses and all, there's always a message for us to take away with every line. Even though I've listened to this song a thousand times, these kinds of analyses make me so happy to listen to.

I remember when I was at my peak of struggling with my alcoholism. I was drunk out of my life with earbuds in my ears listening to this. I was crying in public.

Just saw them on the Grey Day tour 3 days ago. Honestly, I cried and sang every lyric during this song. Really helped me through high school and still helps me in my moments at 22.

It's enough to get you emotional when it's just you and thousands of other people singing the melodic parts. Just went to their show Sunday and it was beautiful.

Something I did notice was the part where it mentioned fluorescent lights. It is most like that it means that he gets frustrated from the lights placed in retail and convenience store to prevent intravenous drug injections. It possible insinuates that he gets violent because he can’t get high because it is his escapism being taken away when that is all he wants before he overdoses.

there goal/message is to show and tell people hey look at our life all the addiction and pain and suffering, and were ok were fine. the suicideboy$ songs are always taken is a bad light or contexts when its just two dudes being real bonding with people and that unity really helps people in need in that they dont feel alone. i need that interview lol i still think it should happen.. love these videos keep them coming.!
