Welcome to my first, two part ‘Come and make with me’ video!
In this video I’ll be showing you how I make my signature macrame tree of life and showing you how you can make yours.
This is not a step-by-step tutorial. Simply because I truly believe this piece should be created with your own individual style rather than copied from start to finish. I will show you how to create the first few stages, how to make the perfect leaf using double half hitch knots (DHHK) and you can then follow me as I complete the first stage of my tree - With tips throughout.
The following video, to be released soon, will show you how to create the branches, trunk and those final finishing touches.

I will be using 3mm 3ply cord but just wondered how long you would suggest each cord - I only have a 100m ball of cord, will this be enough? Many thanks again for such a great video 👍

¡Hola! Aro - 30cm Grosor del cable: 2 mm (3 capas retorcidas) Cada cordón mide 200 cm de largo. Yo uso 48 cuerdas. ¿Espero que eso ayude? 😊

I like to make sure just over half the hoop is covered in the cords. Start with fewer and see how you go before you cut too many! I can’t wait to see your finished tree 🌳

You can take them a little shorter. It just depends on how long you want the ends to hang. 175 would be ok!

Thank you! 3mm will work too but you may not get as many leaves in there. Try 40/44 cords instead of 48 so it doesn't get too overcrowded. Go for it and message anytime if you need any help!
