Let's give Pakistan fair credit on many of the good things they make and do on international level. World Cup soccer balls, Cricket bats, hand made exotic carpets, classic oakwood furniture, textiles, surgical instruments, pink Himalayan salt, precious and semi precious stone jewelry, food products, utensils, I.T. services, ammunition of high quality, and so on. Home of K-2, 2nd highest but most difficult peak to climb than Everest. Good hardworking honest ppl.

I have a couple.. One was a copy of the Western Bowie. much like your big knife, that I bought 30 some years ago. Sheath is still mint, knife was used as a garden tool for a long time. I am cleaning it up and putting new burl scales on it. Thank you for the video, Tom. Off to part 2.

OMG! I just bought an exact copy of that 'bowie'. Same sheath, same profile. $16+ship. It was an 'online' purchase, so I don't have it in hand yet...but from the pictures it looks like someone went crazy with a file or Dremel on the sides. I was trying to figure out how to smooth it out a bit, but maybe that won't be needed since it's planned use is as a movie prop...early 1870s Comanchero blade! Thanks for the vid, and keep cutting those feathersticks!

Have 1 definite Pakistan blade and 2 suspected. The 2 suspected are smaller folders, 1 a smaller copy of a Buck 110. The Buck copy is my toolbox knife, it's been misused in most ways possible and is barely scratched. The definite is a smaller fixed blade hunter with the blade in a Bowie shape. As long as the tip isn't weak it should be fine, sharpens up OK. I've had 1 or 2 name brand knives be a disappointment and the odd cheaper one be outstanding. It's a good surprise when a knife outperforms its price point.

Pakistan do make very exotic and high quality knives. But the thing is the amount of money you pay is than comparable to well reputed Companies. No one really buys them than at that price.

@@tomritter493 I just recently bought a 15 inch Bowie dagger from eBay, that came from Pakistan. And the knife looks like it was made in Pakistan, meaning, the poor quality of their knives Iv'e come to known! The finish on that 15 inch dagger I bought from them was atrocious, not to mention that it looked nothing like the knife in their description, because the picture of the knife I viewed in their description was of high quality, and what I received was not only different, but of poor quality! The grinds on the blade were not flat and even, however in their description they were perfect! Pakistan has a bad reputation, because they are not honest with their customers, they use deceptive tactics to sell their knives, like in my case, period.

First off you need to find a reputable steel Smith. Secondly you need to specify exactly what you want and how you want it made. Lastly you need to pay more than $10 bucks if you want Quality
