You've done a few nice flanking videos, bit this was one of the best. Always amazing the power of the river and how you skippers make it look easy.

I remember one time in the 1980’s, Captain blew three whistles for more power. Outa the Tennessee into the Ohio and turned north on the upper. 3400 horsepower wasn’t getting it done. We backed down a few miles and hit hard on overload and that was the last time I heard a big engine scream for mercy

My grandfather used to work on the Jadwin. I remember going on board once about 55-60 years ago. The boat was about 30 years old then.

When you zoom in on the flag and i see the slide its too wild that makes it easy to understand not to go too fast , patience is crucial at this point, get that nose where it needs tobe .then speed up . Great job thanks for makeing this fun and a educational experience

Awesome to see the Miss. River. Thank you for the hard work y’all do. I live in a little town of Morganza La. I go at least once a week to see the River and see all the great barges going up and down the River. Thank you for a beautiful shot of the River from north to south!! Be careful and safe!!😁🙋🏼‍♂️👍

I am surprised that no one has designed Portable Bow Thrusters that can be attached to the Head to help with maneuverability.

They do, just the sheer weight and size of these compared to those units isn’t enough, each one of those lds are 1500 tons a piece, while most of the bow units are only 300-500hp and require more fuel and extra expenses. Guys have been flanking like this for decades now. Giving them a unit really won’t help them make that bend any fast than just traditionally flanking it. Where they are used more in the ICWW well, you see them more not a lot but, they use them because tows are smaller and they work better for the unit guys and 6 packs. And even then it’s more to keep the guys who are pushing empties moving during windy days.
