In the video, the dancers are Mahua Shankar and Saswati Sen. in order of appearance. The recital depicts the beauty of Kathak through the two dancers, esp. with the Maestro, Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji, providing the musical support.

i never saw this amazing perfected synchronization in kathak..... i loved the hyper connnective taal and dancers synergy !!! i never knew this could be so so beautiful to watch ......I AM A FAN OF CLASSICAL FROM THIS MOMENT !

saswati ji was , marvelous and so was the other dancer(i wish i knew her name)....chakkarks and tihais were gr8..but i also liked the gat-bhav done by saswati ji to depict to search somthing very dear...i wish if could have gone a little longer...!!! other dancer was also gr8..she has a good hold of taal...!!

what is the Raag being used? i am learning hindustani classical Music and would love to know. From what i can recognise, i can hear komal reand komal dha. any ideas? and a bit of tivra ma is also breafly herd. thanks for the video Hello from Sweden Nicki

Kathak does not have variety in their steps.

yankee doodle kathak has many aspects to see, that's what make it unique and different than tap dancing. Prominently it's speed and strong taps in kathak which other dances don't have.
