YAMAN is the Queen of all the 36 Melakarta Raagas (Melakarta No. 65) of Komal Madhyama (Prati Madhyamam) janya Raagaas, just as SANKARAABHARANAM is the mother of all Raagaas (Melakarta No. 29) of Suddha Madhyama janya Raagaas! A great rendition by Pandit Venkatesh Kumar ji.

Yaman is the Queen no doubt.But according to Rag Lakshan in carnatic music the first 36 melas are shuddha madhyama which is Komal Madhyam in Hindustani music.After the 36melas are pratimadhyamam in carnatic and Teevra madhyam in Hindustani. Now i request you to go through what you wrote.I hope you understand what i am trying to say.

RAM RAM. Ragas are classified as male, female in Carnatic and Raga, Ragini system in Hindustani. Shankarabharanam is considered as a male raga. so it can be a king not Queen.we should be more careful when commenting.Its not an easy job.
