Watch scrappy if your hooked on building an airplane. Why is there any steel in this build??

It seems to me he's just laying the rod at a rough angle. I would hold the rod at 45% then push the rod slightly to penetration that's the only way. You'll know it's safe and certified and won't come apart in mid air.

Could there be a way that pipe joints be made to fit each pipe to build the plane and each numbered for each pipe that's connected to a solid inner spring steel?? If it's built in triangles it should be fairly accurate. This way the joints are spring like that will bend but won't break.If in case of a crash. Would this way save a lot of welding?

Is torch welding recommended over other types of welding on this project?

There are a lot of opinions about what welding is best for aircraft. The tried and true is oxy-acetylene, but TIG also has some advantages. Especially when welding aluminum or stainless steel. The downsides of TIG are that the effective heat zone is smaller which causes stress in the base metal just beyond the weld, and it tends to cool more rapidly causing more stress to be locked in without stress relieving. You could use Tig if you were to go back with a torch and stress relieve each cluster after welding. But in my opinion if you are going to stress relieve with a torch why not just do the welding with a torch and be done with it. Mig and stick welding are not used in aircraft welding for various reasons.

@@FrugalBuilding It appears that TIG would be faster, even though stress relief would follow. Also, since brazing is almost as strong as welding, why not braze?

@@Patriottoo2 Brazing is not for structural use in aircraft. Check out the AC 43.13 if you are interested.

@@MrRJSorrell I just looked at the reference you suggested, above, and find nowhere that brazing is disallowed. Perhaps, you can provide a direct quote from the cited reference?
