We are now facing more or less the similar frustration that you faced 7 months ago. Means the incompetent, incapable PTCL with lack of customer service have bet not to improve themselves or update their training in any respect. In our case the add on is that almost a month of back and forth they are saying a device for TV is issued on your name to someone else (just a system error), so the new purchased one won't work unless the previous is cancelled. ... cancellation is another story of PTCL.... Very disgusting

Faced the same issue but i was trying to get my ptcl ADSL connection to VDSL and they were charging me 2000(for an old used modem{exchange} while on 1218 they were saying that the exchange will provide you with brand new modem) + 2000 to provide you with a new connection while I was already a consumer and the 1218 person was saying that the conversion is free of cost. the SDO of the gulshan ravi exchange was too involved in this. I almost lost my mind at the exchange then a uncle came and said you wont have to pay that extra 2000 just give me the charges of an old modem cause that's necessary in short I paid and converted it.
