Hi there, a PTE tutor here. So grateful you have come out to say that the Score Guide should be the only reference. The whole exam needs an overhaul to be honest and it’s a stretch to say it’s a “super examiner” but thank you so much for the guidance on teaching. Pitch issues, speaking tests being conducted in rooms with 14-15 candidates all yelling at the same time, algorithm that is easily duped (there are KZbin channels still promoting the use of templates/memorised content), AI that can’t tell the difference between hesitations due to content vs due to poor vocabulary/language command are just a few glaring issues - and that’s just for the Speaking test. The scoring enhancement is a welcome change and much appreciated! Human involvement is a great thing!

What's happening with the PTE is quite confusing. If our words match those using templates/structure whatever, will that impact our scores? We're not following any templates, but at the end of the day, while explaining an image or retelling a lecture, if our words still end up similar to theirs, does that put us at a disadvantage? It's becoming unclear how to approach this and also that like even id we do as from our the pitch issue is the one like it doesnt support who are geniun and to buy practise test official is so high

Hi There 👋 No need to worry-there have been no changes to the essay writing section. Our improvements focus on using both AI and human scoring for "Describe Image" and "Retell Lecture" to ensure the most accurate scores. The essay writing questions and rating scales remain the same.

Hey Pearson I would request you to analyse Fluency and Pronunciation by humans. It may help test takers to reduce the pressure. Understanding the task within 20 seconds and satisfying AI for pronunciation and fluency are really challenging. So, make the changes soon. Also, one line strategy for Read Aloud should not be scored.
