Here's a rehousing video of Sola, my juvenile OBT, which I did just last week. Make sure to watch my other videos, there's definitely more to see.
Thank you for watching!

Great video, I like the calmness of it even though you're rehousing an OBT. I've learned from other videos that holding the brush to them the entire time they move, reduces the boltiness of a lot of species. The sudden touch and pull back that some keepers do makes tarantulas bolt, holding the brush and following along with the tarantula and keeping contact can reduce a lot of boltiness in my experience.

That is something nobody ever taught me, thank you for sharing! I do see people and some videos where they agitate their spiders on purpose. I think it looks cool on video, but personally I wouldn't be able to handle such intense interactions. haha

Love your videos bro!I am from Romania, and this kind of animals are not usual AT ALL.But 2 years and a half ago I bought my first tarantula, a Brachypelma Smithi, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I love your type of videos,I love seeing people putting their imagination on creating beautiful terrariums. At the moment I dont have money and space to buy more tarantulas(Im 20) but in the future I hope to have enough money and use your videos as insipiration to build my tarantulas great terrariums decorations as yours! Continue your work and God bless you!!!

It makes me very happy reading your message. Initially I thought everyone would find my videos boring and uninteresting haha, but I post them because they made me happy anyway. When I got my first spider, I was 17. It took me 13 years before I was financially able to keep 20+ spiders. I'm sure one day soon you will have a bigger space for yourself and loads of spiders, and other hobbies that you can enjoy. I believe it! Try to be the best at what you want to do in life, but don't forget to enjoy life in its simplest form. Thank you very much and God bless you too!!

IDK why they get such a bad rap. My P Sazamai and my C Dyscolus are far more likely to throw threats and slap than my OBT. Everyone had me spooked when I got her, but Betelgeuse is really chill.

not the general and recommended set up yes but no worries, it made itself a sturdy, fantastic looking system of tunnels in a span of a week after the rehousing and has since been very comfortable in every corner of every enclosure.

Another great video and lovely set up. I bought my obt already in his adult enclosure and he had been building an amazing Web tunnel up the side to compliment his ground based tunnel system. This video has inspired me to make one about mine. I love this type of video there are far too many unboxing new spiders ever week videos out there when this style of focusing on the spiders you have video is much better.

Hope you can make one, I'll be sure to watch it! True, personally I don't plan on having too many because I'm sure I wouldn't be able to take care of them all as much as I should. and I think it's better to document the entire lifespan of a good number of specimens that viewers can keep track of, sort of like characters in a TV series lol

Regardless of the type of Tarantula, providing a hide such as cork bark allows the spider to settle into a new enclosure much faster. I've also had a good amount of success keeping OBTs in an arboreal styled setup. Giving them a secure place to hide limits a lot of defensive behavior. These guys also like a bit more humidity than what clay substrate provides, but can be mixed into a soil styled substrate. Dry is good but that's bone dry. They also like to burrow which loose clay doesn't facilitate.

I like your style of doing videos! It's interesting, the music is well chosen and calming. The visuals are done well. I personally don't own an OBT but I do have 12 different T's. Each one's personality is different from day to day. Some web up their enclosures some burrow and others like bulldozing substrate, usually into the water dish. 🤣

Hi Linda! Thanks I'm glad you like it! I revisit these videos when my anxiety attacks, the ambient sound and the music calm me down and get my mind off things. Making them calms me even more. And yes, that is totally true about their personality differences and how they change from time to time.. For creatures that are stationary for the most part of every day they do surprise you from time to time, don't they? haha. Do you plan on ever getting an OBT?

@@arachnotherapy7322 I've only started keeping Tarantulas about 3 years ago. Pandemic boredom. Sure, get Tarantulas. I went from beginner to advanced in two months after my Tliltcotl albopilosus presented me with an unexpected egg sac, then 33 days later I had 137 eggs with legs. I had to learn alot. Also having to put them into 2 oz deli cups, find a buyer, then ship them all out FedEx. But I do enjoy colorful T's. I've thought about an OBT, but I think I need a few, more laid back old world like M. balfouri, C. darlingi or marshali, and/or H. pulchripes . I'm not one to perfer more colorful T's.

@@lindabriggs5118 I wouldn't want to be in a position where I have to tend to 100+ eggs with legs, I just know I won't be able to handle it. Good job on getting them all new homes! Since I also have an M.Balfouri and an H. Pulchripes, I agree with what you said about them being more on the shy side than the wild side haha. Let's just hope the ones you get in the future stick to that category!
