Another excellent video. I love these small Scottish railway stations in the middle of no where. I read that Corrour station is probably the most remote station in the UK but remarkably you can get a direct train from London to the station for 55 quid. Makes me want to do the journey just for the hell of it. Love it!!

The tunnel near Rannoch you said you weren't sure about is the Cruach snowshed. Incidentally, just FYI, the stations aren't suffixed with 'south' - I think TS is just using that to identify southbound. Really, to identify that platform it would be Tulloch up. Hope that's not too pedantic. Thanks for all your videos, they're great.

You mentioned the rail rover. It still exists both standard and first class, seven or fourteen days. Apart from the West Coast and East Coast main lines, Midland main line and Cross Country services if travelling between Monday and Friday (I think from 10.00am is the latest you can travel), all other routes should be fine, check before travelling. Weekends and bank holidays are unlimited, again check before travelling particularly any works taking place on certain routes around the United Kingdom.

As always Peter, I appreciate the work you put into these route learning videos. I'm currently up in Scotland at the moment and took a trip up to Helensburgh yesterday on the Glasgow Queen Street to Oban service, which believe it or not was on a class 156. I understand this route ends at Helensburgh, it would be great to have it extended in the future into Glasgow Queen Street so that you could do a full run up to Oban.

William Mankelow As always, thank you! :) Scotland is a great country to visit. I hope that you've had a good time up there? This route ends at Helensburgh Upper, which is closer to being in the middle of nowhere than Helensburgh itself lol :p I agree though, I'd love to see it extended all the way to Glasgow. :)

PTGRail We got all over the place while we were up there. Ayr, Helensburgh, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bo'Ness and Kinneill Railway, Dundee and Stirling where we were staying. I got a whole load of photos while I was up there :-D

Corrour is pronounced locally as Cor-oar as it derives from Gaelic. Thoroughly enjoyed your video.

Peter, an absolutely brilliant video for entertainment, interest and your commentary. You asked for opinions on a steam run from Kingswear to Exeter. I think it would great; the scenery is some thing special. You would be justified in using a Black 5 with its speedometer as the route in real life gets a lot of steam charters drawn by anything up to Pacifics. They turn them on the table at Churston. Many thanks, Roger Crick
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
Roger Crick Thanks Roger! I agree, it will have a nice, nostalgic feel to be able to run between Exeter and Kingswear set in a bygone era. That's something I will definitely record when TS2016 comes out.

Enjoyed that video immensely. Do you need a special gaming PC to run the sim? I'm an old ex railwayman and would love a crack at this. A route I'd enjoy seeing would be the old North Liverpool Loop from Liverpool Central high level to Aintree via Hunts Cross and the Halewood Triangle. Either in steam days which had express specials from as far as Newcastle to Aintree on Grand National Day thundering over it again via the triangle. It survived until the heritage DMU days and closed in 1972 with Gateacre being the last station to close. Another would be the old Bootle Branch from Edge Hill to Bootle docks, it had stations in steam days and now used as a freight only line. Hope they can be done some day in the future. Thank you

Don't know if or how to alter max speeds of locos/units in TS but the class 37 are not all 80mph or 90mph. The Class 37/3 and 37/4 subclass have a maximum speed of 80mph due to the use of CP7 bogies which have different traction motor gearing to all the other Class 37s which as a result all have 90mph top speeds.

I notice a lot of people using the older Class 37 for the better sounds, but I have heard the routes Class 37 has accurate physics. Perhaps Armstrong Powerhouse can eventually create better sounds for the WHL South's 37. Not only that, but for the rolling stock.
@BBC.Radio19 жыл бұрын
Just to let you know, the stations aren't called "Tulloch South" or "Corrour South". The developers of this route replaced the platform numbers with the direction of the tracks instead.

Great vid as always. I tried in the London to Peterborough : Back to Bounds Green; last night. Stating at Peterborough, In an HST (class 35) It has temp speed reduction about 20 miles from London Kings Cross, this I handled fine (thanks Ptgrail) however, as getting back up to arround 100, About 10 miles from London, over some points (Don't really know London) there was a tempory, no warning the speed limit was going to drop to 15 for about 5-10 second - 1000 odd points, then happily onward to London. Any ideas, tips etc as to what can be done. Great vid once again.
@PTGRail9 жыл бұрын
John Hamlin Sometimes the AWS may not have been places for the TSR warning, and it's very easy to miss a sign at 125mph if there's no warning. It doesn't always show on the HUD either which is another annoying thing!
@alexanderphillips40179 жыл бұрын
Don't know if it can be altered in Train Simulator but all 37's have had their maximum speed limit increased from 80mph to 90mph
