Fantastic series, I'm so glad I purchased the Pro version (even though I'm a beginner at this) it all makes perfect sense and can't wait to try all these techniques out. Thank you for your wonderful explanations.

Trying the demo to see if i want to purchase. I used sony fx3 did bracketed exposure 5 images, using a crane s2 to get the various positions. It is not saying bracketed exposures detected at atll.... So I found in the menu link HDR bracketed exposures... Then it just says No HDR exposure sets found... wtf? Is this a limitation of the demo? I saw raw photos, in ARW format, loaded them in PTGui sees them and they line up, I can clearly see the bracketed exposures.. but it just claims they aren't bracketed. what gives??

What about things like Chromatic Aberration and Fringing, can these be edited/fixed in PTGui or do you have to do this in an external program, and if so, at what step of this process would you do it? Many thanks.
@ptgui Жыл бұрын
Hi Jez, I'm sorry, PTGui cannot yet remove CA and fringing. This would be useful indeed and it's on the wish list. For the best results we still recommend to use a dedicated RAW converter and remove CA there. Convert to 16 bit TIFF, you can stitch those in PTGui.

10:45 which HDR file format do you recommend outputting for precessing in photoshop? Also, 13:35, can you explain why it's better to adjust in PtGui instead of photoshop? Thanks! Great video!
@ptgui3 жыл бұрын
Hi, in the HDR File Format box you can choose OpenEXR, 32 bit TIFF or 32 bit Photoshop output. All of these use lossless compression, so the result will be identical. The PTGui tone mapper recognises the fact that this is a spherical panorama and it will tone map correctly across the left and right image edge. Photoshop doesn't do this correctly, and you will end up with a discontinuity where the left and right edge wrap around. Also the nadir and zenith will not be tone mapped correctly, resulting in 'vortex'-like artefacts. PTGui is the only tone mapper which handles this correctly. Hope this helps!

One question. When I am editing multiple light-painted images from each angle (instead of simple HDR exposures), can I visualize and compose each layer individually within the full PANO stitched?
@ptgui3 жыл бұрын
Not entirely sure if I understand, but I think outputting the Blend Planes would do what you need. Each blend plane is a complete stitched panorama at a certain exposure. If you need further help, don't hesitate to post to the PTGui support forum: groups.google.com/g/ptgui

How do you stitch raw HDR images? Do you have to edit these first in LR or PS and save out as jpegs or do you recommend just shooting in jpeg ?
@TheFbiFilesRepeat3 жыл бұрын
Never edit jpegs.

Hello, PTGui Pro does not recognize HDR images when importing them as HDR. The images are saved as JPEG. What could be the problem? And the pictures are recognized as equal length and width (square). Thanks a lot.

Hi Sergey, perhaps you used automatic exposure instead of manual exposure. PTGui Pro 11 requires that your camera was set to M (manual exposure) mode when shooting the bracketed images. For more information see 7.3 here: www.ptgui.com/support.html#7_3 If you need more help, please post to the PTGui forum, this is the place to get technical support: groups.google.com/group/ptgui We are there to answer any questions.

No problem, you can always deactivate PTGui on the old PC (even if it's dead) and activate it on another.

@@ptgui Kann i have it on PC at home and Notebook?
@ptgui4 жыл бұрын
@@sergeykovachev4981 Yes. A personal license is licensed to a single person. It's fine if you use PTGui for commercial purposes, and you may install it on up to 2 computers, but it may only be used by you. See www.ptgui.com/order.html

Wait a minute - "Disable any image stabilisation" - why this recommendation? With a rock solid tripod IS should not make a difference, but why turn it off?
@ptgui4 жыл бұрын
Just in case. You'll want pixel perfect alignment between the bracketed images. Feel free to leave it enabled if you don't expect any problems.

Paid for a PTGUI license and then i have to pay to upgrade just to do an HDR panorama? wow :(

Yes, the HDR functions are available in the Pro version only. There's a feature matrix here: ptgui.com/features.html Upgrading from the standard version to PTGui Pro can be done at any time by paying the price difference between the two versions.
